We absolutely loved every second of being at last night. Personally, we EXTRA enjoyed getting to film an interview with the hysterical and with side comments and more laughs from . We also got to set up in the lobby afterward and catch some audience reactions of the comedy show- which of course everyone loved it. Johnston and Welch crushed it and we will keep an eye to see where they go next so we can be in the audience! It was a wonderful evening and we hope to be back.

Extra special thanks to for the awesome opportunity and for your extra help!

Here it is folks!

In May, Sam came to me with a big question- How do we, as Burnt Pie Productions, help unify and uplift local theaters and artists as the DFW theatre community starts to open up their doors after the pandemic shut down? We sat on this question for a second, but didn't let too much time pass because we knew that it was important to get the ball rolling on something. That's when it came to us. Dallas and Fort Worth theaters were Opening Up...it was right there. This would be a video featuring as many local theaters as we could get. It would also feature artists who knew what it was like first hand to live, breathe, and perform in those exact spaces. The song would be a cover of Opening Up from Waitress (with different words of course), because come ON, how could it not be. It was going to be a big feat but we knew with the right group, we could get it done.

Just to be completely transparent, this video is FULL of favors. This is not a way to brag about how our company can complete work for cheap, but to note how much of a FAMILY this community can be. These artists deserve the world for how much they did for us.

Seriously, thank you all. Even if you have simply liked Burnt Pie's page a year ago and have never checked back, you all have changed our lives (for good). Please share this video and shoutout the theaters you love and the artists you would love to see in their spaces. And, comment below your favorite moment in the video, we would love to know! DFW theater is BACK! Can't wait to see you there.

And finally— The Theaters.

Tomorrow, you will see our personal love letter to the DFW theater community. A place that Sam and I have had the privilege to call home. A place where we met and fell in love. A place that doesn’t get enough credit for how many local artists there are AND how much work they put in. We are PROUD to be a part of this community.

Our goal was to work with theaters that are fighting towards diversity and inclusion. Our goal was to reach out to theaters and give them support as their seasons began to open after the pandemic hiatus. Our goal was to try and pull together a group of theaters and artists who truly represent who and what DFW theater is all about.

We emailed many Dallas and Fort Worth theaters and these are the 12 that agreed to be a part of our team. We hope that tomorrow when you see what we have made, you will be proud to be a part of this community. And Burnt Pie Productions personally pledges to continue to do the work to help to make it safe and inclusive. We love you all.

Thank you— Jubilee Theatre, Circle Theatre, Stage West, Casa Mañana, Arts Mission Oak Cliff, Bathhouse Cultural Center, Bishop Arts Theatre Center, IMPRINT Theatreworks, Theatre Three, Uptown Players, and Shakespeare Dallas

NEXT UP! Here is the beautiful cast of our upcoming project. This summer they gave up hours of their time to make this dream a reality. We couldn’t be more grateful for each and every one of them. They gave me so much grace as I tried my best to organize who was doing what and when, and for that alone- they deserve everything and more.

This group is made up of actors, singers, dancers, stage combat artists, and puppeteers. We hope that this video will serve as a video representation of the diverse talent we have in DFW theater. We are so lucky to call all of these artists our friends- some old and some new- and can’t wait to continue to see their careers grow!

Only 2 more days until you get to see what all of this is about! Keep your eyes peeled 🙂

Thank you— Preston Lee Isham, Ania Lyons, Rachel Poole, Nicole Carrano, Mitchel Stephens, Morgan Mabry, Presley Duyck, Caitlin Martelle, Traci Lee, Denise Lee, Jeremy Davis, Natassia Dominique, Mindy Neuendorff, Thi Le, Christina Austin Lopez, Kelly McCain, Ashley H. White, Randy Pearlman, Jonathan Bragg, Kyle Igneczi, Danny A. Vanegas, Nigel Jamal Hall, and Cara Serber

We owe you guys everything and more! You rock ⭐

Soooooo, do y’all remember that big project we were working on this summer? Well, we are so ready to share it with you đŸ™ŒđŸ» But, before we can do that, we are going to take this week to announce all of the brilliant artists we had in front and behind the camera working their tails off.
Let’s start this off first with the amazing creative team— When Sam came up with this idea in May, he immediately called Vonda K. Bowling and Mark Quach. He knew he didn’t want to make anything without their help and thankfully they said yes! So without further ado- Mark Tam Quach () is our cardio loving Choreographer. He cast all the dancers, went out of his way to teach each dancer, and has helped every step of the way during this process. & of course, Vonda K. Bowling () is our incomparable Music Director. She taught all of the music, even with her extremely busy schedule, and truly made this process so easy. We couldn’t have done it without her.

So once we had them on board we had to find a band. But, let’s be honest- We knew who we wanted. And we can’t believe it but we got them. We have Jackie Whitmill Jr () on Drums, KJ Gray () on Bass, and Kwinton Gray () on Keys. These guys also hooked us up with our phenomenal sound engineer Jonathan Thomas (). These 4 took our idea and ran with it and we couldn’t be more grateful. They truly are a dream team.

And last but not least Sam Swenson () as the Director and Editor. Without him there would’ve been no idea. I mean c’mon, let’s be honest- without him there would be no Burnt Pie Productions. He poured everything he had into this while also working full time. He is 1/2 of Burnt Pie and the other 1/2 of my heart and I am so proud of him.

Keep looking here this week to see the rest of the announcements before you get to see the full video! Thank you guys so much for your continued support ⭐
