I'm proud of what I have learned, how I have grown, and what lies ahead no matter how many times, I get told yes or get told no, my heart gets broken and put back together, or I go months at a time wondering what will become of me or the camera and where I'll get my next bowl of ice cream. šŸ˜‚

Being in front of the camera is something that took years of healing, self therapy, and and countless moments of abandoning my insecurities, and the long list of things that I didnā€™t like about myself and that society also didnā€™t like about me.

I spent much of my life being told that the world didnā€™t want a scarred face, scrawny, black girl in front of its lens. I remember crying the few times I did have my photographs taken, and my scars were Photoshopped out, or my body changed via technology.

it has been a powerful journey of understanding, my uniqueness and strangeness, and how I deserve to be just so ā¤ļø

Having the power now myself, to capture the people I find so much beauty in and let that beauty remain as it is, has been one of the most powerful and healing things of my lifeā€¦

Than you to everyone, who let me capture your uniqueness, your beauty, your imperfections, and everything that makes you, YOU.
