Are YOU ready to transition into fall or are you hanging on to the summer? Texas seems to be holding onto summer. Was it really 100 degrees today?!

Well, maybe if we talk about the fall the weather will cooperate with us and cool down. Please?

Fall is my FAVORITE season and I'm so ready for cooler weather! Another reason I love fall so much is because it's the PERFECT senior session weather! Not too hot and not too cold!

Here's a few other reasons fall is so great for a senior session:
1) WEATHER: again, it's not too hot and not too cold, so it's the Goldilocks approved season for senior portraits. In early fall, you'll see low 80 degree temps and in late fall they can go as low as the 50s. You won't have to worry about sweating from heat or a red nose from the cold...it's just right.

2) FASHION: if boots, scarves, and jackets are your thing, a fall senior session is your perfect option. Layers make an outfit super dynamic and the season for a perfectly layered wardrobe is definitely the fall. Remember that if you shoot in early fall, you can still wear transitional pieces like short dresses and shorts since it won't be too cool for those types of outfits.

3) COLORS: close your eyes and imagine your portraits taken with warm tones and falling leaves. In love with the idea of how it looks? Fall is the perfect session season for you! The tall grass fields are usually a beautiful wheat color and trees will be covered with shades of orange, red, and yellow.

Senior session myth #2: You should wait until Spring of your graduating year to book your senior session.

As much as Spring is a favorite season for senior portraits, there are some issues you may run into during these months. Timing can be tricky as you'll be entering a very busy season of pre-graduation festivities like senior recitals, college visits, prom, spring break, etc. This can make pinning down a session date difficult and make a needed weather reschedule even more problematic.

Another issue related to timing is image & product delivery. Editing your session images could take up to two weeks and the designing and delivery of any ordered products could take another 2 weeks (or more) on top of that. If you are wanting to have custom grad announcements and products like albums, metal portraits, or signature wall art showcased for your grad party, keep that in mind when booking your spring session date and opt for an early Spring date, instead of a later one.

Another factor to consider is if you want to incorporate your college into your senior session...you likely won't know until the Spring of your graduating year, so if that is a must for you, this season would be your go-to option.

If a Spring session sounds perfect for you, you'll want to contact us and book your session in the Fall/Winter of your Senior year -- aka RIGHT NOW! This will allow you plenty of time to plan ahead, receive our client resources, and prepare for your Spring session. *Remember that this is the most popular session to book, so dates will sell out quickly. It's best to book this session as early as possible.

Class of 2025 SENIOR MOMS:

Now that it is your senior’s final year of high school, things are going to get crazy busy... yes, even more so than it already is now, believe it or not. All the
things are about to happen in a matter months:

+ back-to-school festivities
+ football season
+ homecoming
+ Halloween
+ Fall break
+ Thanksgiving
+ Christmas

and somewhere in there – with all the other to-dos, are getting your senior’s portrait session booked and photographed. But first, you have to schedule your session! Don’t wait until next spring when it’s so late in the season. You’ll only feel incredibly rushed and stressed out. Nobody wants to experience that for their senior portraits.

IF YOU HAVE A GRADUATING SENIOR IN YOUR LIFE, SAVE THIS POST!

As you begin to help your new college freshman pack for their big move, sometimes the transition can be a bit rough, and when emotions start to give them doubt, here are a few things that will help them feel your love all the way from home.

#1: Pet Blanket or Pillow: we all know fur babies aren’t allowed at college, so the next best thing is a custom blanket (or pillow) with their picture on it! Their best friend(s) can still be there to hug when your new college resident gets lonely.

#2. Senior Yearbook: we’re not talking about the school yearbook! We’re talking about our MEP books! Your senior can load 200 images of their best friends & senior year memories into a beautiful 8x8 book that they can look back on for years to come!

#3. Snack Subscription: this one will have your new college freshman full of happiness & tasty treats for those late night study sessions!

#5. Twinkling Fairy Lights with Photo Clips: add a bit of coziness to your new abode with battery operated LED string of lights, being sure to include your favorite photos. What could be better?
