Why I still use my own lights even when I am in a studio. What do guys do - use your own or use the studio lights? If you are interested in the equipment I use there is a link in my bio just for you🄰

I’ve created a full suite of done-for-you client resources, so you don’t have to start from scratch. Which one is missing from your client experience?

āœ”ļø The Discovery Call Blueprint
āœ”ļø Build Your Personal Brand Guide
āœ”ļø Branding Photo Shoot Plan
āœ”ļø Men’s What to Wear Style Guide
āœ”ļø Women’s What to Wear Style Guide
āœ”ļø Client Welcome Guide
āœ”ļø Ultimate Planning Guide
āœ”ļø The Essential Shot & Props List
āœ”ļø Corporate Service & Pricing Guide
āœ”ļø Corporate What to Wear Style Guide

And if you want to see how I actually use all of these in my own business — that’s The Loyalty Loop. It’s how I’ve built a client base where 80% of my work comes from repeat clients and word-of-mouth referrals.

Keep going until you get the shot you actually want.

The magic is usually in the in-between moments… the playing around, moving things, changing angles, trying ideas, seeing what works and what definitely doesn’t šŸ˜‚

That’s where the good stuff happens ✨

Shooting on location can be tricky, especially when you have mixed light sources. Here I show you how I remove this problem from a recent location shoot.

BTW, the second photos of the client was not the chosen image šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø, it was just a good way to show the difference of the l lighting on her face.

If you are new here, hi, my name is Lanie and I help branding photographers grow a sustainable photography business by creating their own Loyalty loop āœŒļø Comment LOOP if you want more info (no email required).

Today’s top tip - check you booking links on your website.

Making the process to book with you should be easy and seamless. If there are broken links or any friction in that process, then your clients might get frustrated and just leavešŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Check your links regularly as after my client told me this I noticed a couple of other links were down aswel, grr.

A quick and easy way I used AI to save me hours as a branding photographer.

After I worked out which tool to use it worked like a treat! The Shoot Plan it provided saved me hours and was very comprehensive, even added some suggestions that hadn’t been discussed.

I know there is a lot of buzz around AI right now, and it can feel very overwhelming, I wanted to share this as a way to use these tools in a very simple yet effective way to make your job easier and give you more time back in your day, YAY ✨

Here is your sign to just do the thing. šŸ‘€

As a self-employed branding photographer, I’m very good at working in my business… and not always so good at working on it.

Between shoots, editing, emails, client calls, admin and accounting, the ā€œimportant but not urgentā€ stuff somehow keeps sliding down the list.
I’m sure you can relate.

I’ve had ā€œupdate client automationsā€ sitting on my to-do list since before Christmas.

I told myself I’d smash it during the summer break. Spoiler alert: can confirm this did not happen šŸ˜‚

But this week I finally cleared the calendar and tackled a few of those annoyingly important jobs that have been quietly judging me for months, and jeez it feels good to stop thinking about it!

So consider this your friendly nudge to stop overthinking and just do the thing already.

And if you’re a branding photographer wanting to give your client journey a proper glow-up, comment LOOP (no email required) and I’ll send you the workflows I use in my own business — the ones that generate over 70% of my bookings through repeat clients and word-of-mouth referrals.

Direction = confidence.
Most people feel awkward in front of the camera.

Your job is to lead them and give direction, they just want you to make them look good!

When clients feel supported, they can relax a bit more = better photos and an around better experience.

And that’s what creates The Loyalty Loop✨

If the shoot feels easy and they leave feeling good, they don’t go looking for someone else next time.

They come back. They refer. They stick around.

And why does that matter? Because working with repeat clients is way easier than trying to attract new clients all the time!

My next 8 jobs have all come from repeat clients or word of mouth referrals, during January where I have done no marketing and only part time while the kids are still on holiday!

Comment ā€˜Loop’ below (no email required) to see how I create over 70% of my jobs without burning out on instagram.

Branding photographers- You’re sitting on a goldmine… and most of you are looking straight past it. šŸ’°

Everyone’s out here chasing new clients like it’s the only way to grow.
More reels. More posts. More ā€œhoping the algorithm likes me today.ā€

Meanwhile, your past clients are quietly waiting to book again.

This is the Loyalty Loop šŸ‘‡
āœ”ļø Clients who already trust you
āœ”ļø Already know your process
āœ”ļø Already like working with you
āœ”ļø And are WAY more likely to say yes again

But if you don’t have a post-shoot strategy?
If you disappear after delivery?
If there’s no clear next step?

That goldmine stays untapped.

Sustainable photography businesses aren’t built on constant chasing.

They’re built on relationships.

Work smarter.
Close the loop.
Comment ā€˜loop’ (or go to the link in my bio) to learn how to create your own Loyalty Loop and create your advantage by tapping into what others can’t even see.
