Happiest of birthdays to my joyful, vivacious and headstrong threenager Ryann Olivia.

Oh how you bring so much laughter and love to our home. Somehow you are both fiercely independent and the biggest snuggle bug in the house. You are incredibly smart and keep me on my toes by deconstructing everything around you to understand how it works.

You have the uncanny ability to make me laugh even when I’m mad and in the words of Hunter “you run our house”.

Parenting you the last three years has been a sanctifying comical love filled adventure and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I pray that you never start taking yourself too seriously and that you keep being unapologetically you— because you are really something special.

Ryann Olivia, you are absolutely radiant my darling. You leave a mark on everyone you meet. I cannot wait to see how the Lord uses you to further his kingdom with your sheer power of will and big heart. I love you forever and a day. 🤍

Three years of you Kenna Rose.

My sweet sensitive tiny dancer who is so easy to love. I delight in the fact that you still fit so perfectly in the crook of my neck when I hold you, just like you did the first time our eyes met. You and your twin sister couldn’t be more different but somehow you are both the calm to Ryann’s crazy and her partner in crime. I love that despite your gentle spirit you can absolutely hold your own and when you feel strongly about something, you aren’t afraid to voice your opinion.

Kenna, you bring so much joy to my life. You are proof that God hears our prayers and delights in giving us the desires of our heart. You and your sister were a silent prayer just between me and God for as long as I can remember.

I believed so strongly that the Lord would answer this prayer one day with a “yes” that I bought things for twin girls while I was pregnant with your brother.

I’ll never forget the feeling of finding out I was pregnant twins and then later that it was with you and your sister— twin girls. It wrecked me, in the best kind of way.

If I could tell you one thing my love it’s to never forget that no matter how much I love you, God loves you infinitely more than that 🤍

April 17th marked year 6 of loving this sweet boy that officially made me a mama.

Hunter, I love your infectious scrunch nose smile that mirrors mine and the way you delight in making me laugh. You are both sensitive and strong. A deep thinker who still loves a good kitchen dance party. You thrive with intentional 1-1 time and live for our weekly date nights. You simply love to be loved, and my child you are oh so worthy of it.

I thank God every single day for the gift it is to be your mom. You are the miracle baby that redeemed my story of rebellion, an answer to so many tear filled prayers as I walked through infertility. Hunter you are living, breathing proof of a faithful, grace-filled, merciful God who is still in the business of bringing light from darkness.

To the mama who is on the fence about capturing maternity photos—

The mama that likely has morning sickness (can they just change the name all day sickness already?!), is exhausted, who doesn’t feel (or look) like themselves, and possibly even *gasp* doesn’t reallllly like being pregnant—this one’s for you!

It may not feel like it now, but one day in the not so distant future (speaking from experience here!) you will miss that baby bump, you will miss the kicks and the way your body completely transformed to accommodate growing another human.

So from one mama to another: You and that growing belly are beautiful and worthy of being celebrated. Don’t let the chance to document the full story of your baby slip away.
