Happy International Dog Day

I have to admit, I’m not usually one for all the “themed” days. It’s hard to keep up with the flavour of the day sometimes.

But today, I wanted to say a special thank you to everyone out there who has allowed me to photograph your dogs. That seems like a broad statement, as it is, but I’ve photographed so many different types and breeds of dogs in my career it’s given me pause.

Pets. Rescues (the best). Therapy dogs. Service dogs. Working dogs. Dogs truly are the epitome of everything that’s good, aren’t they? Whatever their “role” in our lives, in my experience, all they want is to be near us, to make us proud, make us feel safe/better/happy. And without fail, they offer it to us unconditionally.

Happy international dog day to all of the good boys and girls out there; life without you would be that much less.

Today the world lost a ray of light. RIP Miss Dolly Parton, a true icon. I've always loved this song about her dog she found :)

So excited for the Canadian Veteran Service Dog Unit as they undertake their biggest fundraising campaign to date! It's heartening to see great corporate citizens like Navalis Foundation, Spartan Delta and Moving Heroes - Relocation across Canada supporting an amazing group like the CVSDU. I feel so fortunate to be a small part of it. :)

I honestly don't have the words to thank you all enough. Every session, every bit of natural light, every real personality captured on camera — this means the world, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Happy Friday from Oreo! 🐾

This goofy, full-of-personality boy made for one of the most fun sessions out on the trails.
