I do not normally post these kinds of previews but since taking a long break due to personal reasons and moving I was stressed, to say the least, and so excited when Marcus asked me to be a part of their big day.

This is what I live for. I didn’t realize how much until I was behind the camera and in the moment so happy to be there in Del Rio, TX.

I decided to share these images with you because no matter how long you step away from what you love, it will always be with you waiting for you to return. Even if the region you’re in is “too saturated” for your gifts, it would be a shame for you to give up because someone told you there is too many.

Remember your gifts make you one of a kind.

Every flower is different even if they are grouped in the same family.

To My Seniors,

I am so incredibly proud of your accomplishments. You have worked so hard and Covid-19 cannot take any of that away from you. I know that the past months, this week in particular, and the following months will be difficult but you have overcome so much already.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey this year as I had planned to come back full swing this year and now I am unable. I am always rooting for your wins! You will both make your families even more proud and you will make it through this time as you have all others.

Sending all my best wishes and love to you both as you navigate what the new normal will be for you!

The last of a trilogy of Seniors is complete. It's bittersweet but I am so proud to have been able to have the opportunity to travel to Texas for them ❤️

Cannot wait to see you grow and attend A&M even if its online courses for now. So so very proud of you Caitlin Jones!

Always remember this when we have a session together ❤️ Kids will be kids and we will have a wonderful time. At the end of it all, you’ll love what you see 🙌

To the moms who want the “perfect” family photo:

If your photographer includes an image in your gallery, and you’re smiling (or laughing) so much that you have a double chin, don’t skip over it, don’t get rid of it, and please don’t think less of your photographer for including it.

In fifty years when you’re 80 something and that child has grand children of their own, I guarantee that you’ll appreciate these kind of joy filled images for what they are, and not pick apart what you think are flaws.

What I’m asking of you is to not wait fifty years to appreciate the amazing capture of your own laughter.

I got there sooner than when I’m eighty because we went through the Worst with this beautiful young woman with me in this photo. With her permission, I’ll share with you guys that Brynn was bullied so much as a pre-teen that she was suicidal. When she was around ten to twelve, I lived in so much fear of losing her that if she was quietly reading for too long, I would be afraid to check on her. Not many people know this side of our lives.

We went through hell together, and have cautiously made it out the other side, and the joy of that feels something like diamonds—strengthened by that very fire and pressure that tried to destroy us.

I’ve cried over this photo, the sheer happiness of it is something that for a while I was scared to even hope for. I wouldn't care if I had MULTIPLE double chins, messy hair and a bo**er hanging out of my nose (which yeah, I guess I would photoshop THAT out!), the way my heart squeezes when I look at us laughing outweighs any "imperfections".

So if you only take away ONE thing from this post, I hope it’s that you can remember that double chins go hand in hand with real laughter. Maybe you won't see it this year, or next year...but hold on to that picture that you may not *love* yourself in, it just may become one of your favorites.

After taking some time off to refocus and regroup I decided to jump back in. I've had the privilege of being able to photograph this family since their engagement and they have such a beautiful family.
