This is a selfie that my dad took even before selfie was a thing!
This is WHY I photograph families!
For the moments no one thinks to remember, the in-between, the unguarded, the seemingly ordinary ones that slip by unnoticed. YEARS later, it becomes everything!!
The twinkle in my dad’s eyes may be because he was trying to take a “selfie”, my mom caught mid-laugh, enjoying my dad’s endeavor with admiration, may be he said something that made her laugh, and I, sitting there unaware,wide-eyed, probably following my dad’s instructions to look ahead - I would have lost this moment if it wasn’t for this photo! This photo brings a feeling of being loved and cherished! I am so thankful and grateful for this moment preserved in time.
Ordinary days pass quietly, they don’t announce themselves as important, that’s why they are worth keeping!
