It’s WEDDING WEEK for Cara & Christian!!! 🥹🤍✨

I seriously cannot believe their wedding day is almost HERE!! Ever since spending the sweetest evening with these two exploring the Fort Worth Stockyards for their engagement session, I have been counting down the days until we get to celebrate them all over again!!

From wandering through the prettiest little spots in the Stockyards to capturing all the sweet moments between them, getting to know these two has been such a joy!! Cara is truly the sweetest, they both are, and I already know their wedding day is going to be so special!!

I cannot wait to see all of their beautiful details come together, celebrate alongside their favorite people, and capture all the moments that make their day uniquely theirs!!

The dreamiest evening spent wandering through Adriatica Village in McKinney with these two!! From the timeless European-inspired architecture to the most beautiful little corners, this entire engagement session felt like something straight out of a European love story!!

I absolutely LOVED getting to spend the evening with with one of my darling couples, Rebekah & Aaron, capturing all the genuine smiles, sweet in-between moments, and the beautiful connection they share!! There is something so special about documenting this season of life, when there's so much excitement and anticipation for everything that's to come!!

One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is getting to slow down, spend time together, and create images that truly reflect who you are as a couple. The little glances, the laughter, and all those moments that might seem small but mean SO much!! Those are the memories I love capturing most!!

Cara & Christian are truly the sweetest couple and are just so dreamy together! Their entire engagement session was so much fun, and getting to spend the evening with them made me even more excited for their wedding day!!

We ran around the Fort Worth Stockyards together, stopping at Hotel Drover, the Livestock Exchange, under the prettiest trees, and basically anywhere we saw something cute hahaha. But truly, these two made my job way too easy! The way they laugh together, love each other, and just have fun together made every part of their session so sweet!! I am going to have to post more of their darling photos!!

And now their wedding is next month!!! 💍 I seriously cannot wait to celebrate them and capture their big day! I’m so grateful they trusted me with such a special season of their lives, and I can’t believe the next time these two are in front of my camera, they’ll be getting married!!

If your wedding location has meaning to you, tell your photographer why! It can completely change the way we approach your portraits!

On a family farm, that might mean photographing in the field you grew up around, incorporating an old barn, walking down a familiar road, or simply making sure the landscape you’ve known your entire life is visible in your photos! Meaningful locations mean something to us too!!

And when we can pair all of that meaning with golden hour, even better. For each wedding timeline that I plan, I love setting aside a few minutes later in the evening when the light has softened. It gives the couple a little break from the reception and gives us an opportunity to use parts of the property we may not have been able to photograph earlier in the day!

Your portrait locations don’t have to be chosen solely because they’re “pretty.” Sometimes the places that already mean something to you are the ones that deserve to be photographed most!

One of my favorite times for couple portraits is right after the ceremony, and honestly, it has very little to do with the location or even the light!

There’s just a completely different feeling once you’re officially married! The nerves from earlier in the day have settled, the ceremony you’ve been waiting for has actually happened, and you finally get to look at each other and realize… WE’RE MARRIED!!! You’re officially husband and wife 🥹

When I help build your wedding timeline, I love leaving a little room here instead of rushing straight from the ceremony into the next thing. We’ll take your newlywed portraits, of course, but it also gives you a chance to breathe, be together, and actually take in everything that just happened!

These photos were taken right after these two finished their ceremony while we were making our way over for newlywed portraits, and I LOVE the happiness you can see all over them. That just-married feeling is so real, and it’s one of my favorite parts of a wedding day to photograph!

Your wedding day already goes by SO quickly. You don’t need every minute packed with the next thing. Sometimes a little extra room in your timeline gives you the chance to slow down, soak it all in, and enjoy the fact that you just married your person 🫶🏼

The girl behind Amanda Jenkins Photography, lover of Jesus, married to my high school sweetheart, and someone who still can’t believe I get to photograph some of the happiest seasons of people’s lives for a JOB. How is this real!! 🥹

I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember, and now I get to photograph weddings, engagements, growing families, and SO many moments my sweet clients will keep forever. I genuinely feel so blessed!!

I photograph weddings, couples, and families throughout Cu***ng, Georgia, Dallas-Fort Worth, and beyond. Maternity photos are about so much more than documenting your growing belly! They’re about remembering the season before everything changed!

Right now, you’re holding an ultrasound photo, wondering who this little person will be and counting down the days until you finally get to meet them. Before long, you’ll know their personality, their little expressions, and all the things that make them, them!

That’s one of the reasons I always love incorporating meaningful little details into maternity sessions. Ultrasound photos, tiny shoes, an outfit you picked for baby, or anything else that represents this season can make your photos feel that much more personal! Sometimes, the more simple, is better, so the focus is on all of you and little one on the way!

You don’t need a ton of props or anything elaborate. Sometimes something as simple as the very first photo you ever had of your baby is more than enough 🤍

One thing I will always encourage couples to make room for in their wedding timeline is intentional time for just the two of them!

Wedding days move incredibly quickly. You’re surrounded by your favorite people, moving from one part of the day to the next, and before you know it, the reception is ending. Building in even 15–20 minutes for newlywed portraits gives you a chance to step away from everything for a little bit, breathe, and actually take in the fact that you just got married!

When I help my couples with their wedding timeline, I want portrait time to feel relaxed rather than like something we’re squeezing in before the next event. I’ll guide you through your photos, watch the light and keep us moving, but I also want to give you space to simply be together. Those little moments between the “posed” photos (just gently guided) are often some of my favorites!

And if the timeline allows for it, I love sneaking away for a few additional portraits around sunset. It doesn’t have to take you away from your reception for long, but it gives you another quiet moment together AND some of the prettiest light of the day! As a bride myself, I loved each of my wedding portraits, but golden hour will forever be my favorite and will be some of the moments you'll want to print most, it's a gorgeous time of the day and is the most magical!

You’ve spent so much time planning your wedding. Make sure your timeline gives you a little room to actually experience it, too 🤍

5 things I wish EVERY couple knew before their engagement photos 🫶🏼

1. You do not need to know how to pose!
Like at all!! You don’t need to practice or memorize poses from Pinterest. I’ll tell you where to stand, where to look, what to do with your hands, and guide you through the entire session. You’re never expected to just stand in front of my camera and figure it out!

2. We’ll plan everything before your session!
I’ll help you choose a location that fits the look you want, give you outfit guidance, answer your questions, and make sure you know exactly what to expect before session day!

3. Your outfits should complement each other, not perfectly match!
Choose colors and textures that look good together while still feeling like you. Most importantly, wear something you feel confident in! And if you’re stuck between outfits, send them to me!! I’m always happy to help!

4. Feeling awkward at first is normal!!!
Most people aren’t used to having a camera pointed at them! We’ll start simple, I’ll give you plenty of direction, and before long we’ll be moving, laughing, snuggling, twirling, and having fun! My job is to help you feel comfortable so your photos actually feel like you, so don't worry, the first few minutes we'll get comfortable!

5. You get to enjoy your session!
You don’t need to wonder, “What do I do next?” That’s what I’m there for! I’m watching the light, posing, your hands, hair, outfits, background, and all those little details so you don’t have to! Enjoy this time with your person!

From choosing your location and planning outfits to guiding you through your entire session, you’re taken care of throughout the whole process 🤍

You just show up, love on your person, and soak up being ENGAGED!! I’ll take care of the rest 🫶🏼
