A little re-introduction because there are some new faces around here… hi, I’m Amanda!! 🤍

The girl behind Amanda Jenkins Photography, lover of Jesus, married to my high school sweetheart, and someone who still can’t believe I get to photograph some of the happiest seasons of people’s lives for a JOB. How is this real!! 🥹

I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember, and now I get to photograph weddings, engagements, growing families, and SO many moments my sweet clients will keep forever. I genuinely feel so blessed!!

I photograph weddings, couples, and families throughout Cu***ng, Georgia, Dallas-Fort Worth, and beyond. At the heart of it all, I want to give you beautiful, timeless photos that feel like YOU, the big moments, little in-between ones, your favorite people, and everything you’ll want to remember years from now 🤍

And if you’re in front of my camera, you don’t need to know what you’re doing!! I’ll gently guide you, hype you up, notice the little things, help you feel comfortable, and probably ask for “one more photo” when I find another darling spot, especially if the light is gorgeous!!!

I love bright, timeless photos, genuine moments, pretty light, happy tears, allllll the veil shots, and people who are crazy about each other and so in love!

When I’m not photographing your favorite people, I’m usually with mine!! Give me time with my husband, friends & family, traveling, a concert, Dr Pepper, a new show to watch, or any fun plan and I’m happy 🥰

Maternity photos are about so much more than documenting your growing belly! They’re about remembering the season before everything changed!

Right now, you’re holding an ultrasound photo, wondering who this little person will be and counting down the days until you finally get to meet them. Before long, you’ll know their personality, their little expressions, and all the things that make them, them!

That’s one of the reasons I always love incorporating meaningful little details into maternity sessions. Ultrasound photos, tiny shoes, an outfit you picked for baby, or anything else that represents this season can make your photos feel that much more personal! Sometimes, the more simple, is better, so the focus is on all of you and little one on the way!

You don’t need a ton of props or anything elaborate. Sometimes something as simple as the very first photo you ever had of your baby is more than enough 🤍

One thing I will always encourage couples to make room for in their wedding timeline is intentional time for just the two of them!

Wedding days move incredibly quickly. You’re surrounded by your favorite people, moving from one part of the day to the next, and before you know it, the reception is ending. Building in even 15–20 minutes for newlywed portraits gives you a chance to step away from everything for a little bit, breathe, and actually take in the fact that you just got married!

When I help my couples with their wedding timeline, I want portrait time to feel relaxed rather than like something we’re squeezing in before the next event. I’ll guide you through your photos, watch the light and keep us moving, but I also want to give you space to simply be together. Those little moments between the “posed” photos (just gently guided) are often some of my favorites!

And if the timeline allows for it, I love sneaking away for a few additional portraits around sunset. It doesn’t have to take you away from your reception for long, but it gives you another quiet moment together AND some of the prettiest light of the day! As a bride myself, I loved each of my wedding portraits, but golden hour will forever be my favorite and will be some of the moments you'll want to print most, it's a gorgeous time of the day and is the most magical!

5 things I wish EVERY couple knew before their engagement photos 🫶🏼

1. You do not need to know how to pose!
Like at all!! You don’t need to practice or memorize poses from Pinterest. I’ll tell you where to stand, where to look, what to do with your hands, and guide you through the entire session. You’re never expected to just stand in front of my camera and figure it out!

2. We’ll plan everything before your session!
I’ll help you choose a location that fits the look you want, give you outfit guidance, answer your questions, and make sure you know exactly what to expect before session day!

3. Your outfits should complement each other, not perfectly match!
Choose colors and textures that look good together while still feeling like you. Most importantly, wear something you feel confident in! And if you’re stuck between outfits, send them to me!! I’m always happy to help!

4. Feeling awkward at first is normal!!!
Most people aren’t used to having a camera pointed at them! We’ll start simple, I’ll give you plenty of direction, and before long we’ll be moving, laughing, snuggling, twirling, and having fun! My job is to help you feel comfortable so your photos actually feel like you, so don't worry, the first few minutes we'll get comfortable!

5. You get to enjoy your session!
You don’t need to wonder, “What do I do next?” That’s what I’m there for! I’m watching the light, posing, your hands, hair, outfits, background, and all those little details so you don’t have to! Enjoy this time with your person!

From choosing your location and planning outfits to guiding you through your entire session, you’re taken care of throughout the whole process 🤍

One of the things I love most about choosing an engagement session location is finding somewhere that gives us room to slow down, explore, and create a gallery with plenty of variety!

Berry College is one of those places. Between the beautiful stone architecture, open fields, tree-lined roads, and little tucked-away spots throughout campus, we can create so many different looks without your session ever feeling like we’re rushing from one place to the next!

When I help my couples choose a location, I’m not only thinking about what will look pretty in photos. I’m thinking about the light, how we can move through the space, what will complement your outfits, fits personalities, meaningful locations, and most importantly, what fits the two of you!

Your engagement photos should feel like a reflection of this season, not just a photoshoot in a pretty place!

If you're debating the veil... this is me telling you to get the veil!!! The movement it adds to wedding portraits is just TOO GOOD!!! I've had brides buy a longer veil just portrait time to get the swoop and veil fly!

And don't worry, you do not need to know what to do with it. I will absolutely be throwing it in the air, fluffing it, fixing it, laying it out, and doing everything else we need to make all the veil magic happen!!! You just get to stand there, love on your new HUSBAND (!!!), and look gorgeous!!!

One of my favorite things about Piedmont Park is how much variety we can get without ever leaving the park!

You have the Atlanta skyline in one direction, tons of greenery in another, plus open fields, pretty walkways, the cutest gazebo, and quiet little spots tucked away throughout! It's such a good engagement session location if you want photos that feel natural and full of nature while still having a little bit of the city and downtown feel mixed in!

And because everything is within walking distance, we can take our time exploring and let the session feel more like a date together than rushing from one photo spot to the next!

One wedding tradition I will ALWAYS recommend when we can make it happen: BRIDALS!!!

A bridal session is SO much more than just an excuse to put your wedding dress on twice. It's basically a full trial run for your entire bridal look before the wedding day!

Your dress, bouquet, shoes, jewelry... AND it's the perfect opportunity to schedule your hair and makeup trial! Instead of doing your trial on a random day and washing it all off afterward, and getting your hair done, you get to put everything together AND have gorgeous photos to show for it!

It also means we aren't trying to squeeze every single bridal portrait into an already busy wedding day. We can take our time, choose the prettiest light and location, photograph all those little details, and create so much more variety without worrying about keeping your groom hidden or getting you back to your guests! We will take photos of you the day of as well, but it's so fun to have a moment before!

And one of my favorite little bonuses? You get comfortable moving around in your dress! You can print them along with your engagement photos too! You'll know how it feels to walk, sit, hold your bouquet, manage your train, and move in front of the camera before your wedding day even gets here!

So if you've been wondering whether bridal portraits are actually worth it... I'm ALWAYS going to vote yes!! And really, any excuse to wear the dress twice, right?!

Piedmont Park couples, engagement, and proposal sessions will forever have my heart! You get all the gorgeous greenery and open space with the Atlanta skyline right in the background for most of your photos, which makes it SUCH a dreamy spot for engagement photos in Atlanta!
