Wet Retrievers at Work - Temps in the low 70s and a nice breeze had all the dogs in a great mood. Plenty of running, splashing and retrieving for all.

Fun Day Afield - The Pointing Labs had a fun day tracking down the quail. Some young dogs trying to learn the required skills and some prior Triple Crown qualifiers in the mix today.

Back on solid ground! We escaped the frozen tundra of Culpeper and made it to Feather Point Retrievers today where for the first time in a few weeks the dogs could run without slipping. And run, they did.

We getting very tired of the ice and snow. We have had a few delivery drivers stuck in our driveway including this Amazon guy.

Not Wet Today - Spent a couple days at Feather Point Retrievers watching some training action. Nice weather made it nice to be outside watched the dogs work.

Totally Wet Dogs - Following a training session today Chopper and Griz reminded us that above all, they are Labs and they will find mud. A game of keep away broke out and Chopper got the W this time around.

Something Fishy? While sitting in my blind waiting for ducks, this Heron showed up just before sunset. I always like the way they methodically search for food. This Heron was able to pull up a few snacks. Too bad I didn't have more light.

Not Wet today - Had a wonderful afternoon watching Griz, Chopper, Jubal and Lucy doing some wonderful Upland work at Shady Grove Kennel last weekend. Beautiful cool, clear weather made for a wonderful afternoon watching these retrievers show off their Upland skills. While the two CBRs hunt Upland by flushing and the 2 Pointing Labs hunt much differently, they all were very effective and finding the birds and then successfully retrieving them. Love the enthusiasm and versatility of these dogs. ;
