Sophia Redd Singer/Songwriter Interview!

Sophia is a solo artist based in Sylva, North Carolina! She attends school at Western Carolina University, where she has a minor in music. She is known for her open-mic shows in the local area and for her previous association as the lead singer of the band "Socially Constricted" until she decided to pursue a solo career of her own.

2/2/26: Appalachian Women's Museum
Location Scout for At Daggers Dawn. This location we might shoot at was so pretty, the interior had the perfect contrast in the lighting because of the time of day we came!

I had to take advantage and play around with the lighting opportunities. I love the small details!

I wanted to share these portraits I took for the junior thesis called: At Daggers Dawn! This is the project that I will be working on as Director of Photography for the majority of this spring semester!

Concept/Logline: In a post-matriarchal dystopian world, a Father has to choose to protect his daughter or to be loyal to his
country. His Daughter has to decide if she will run or if she will fight.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
These two photos are from December 2024 and 2025. Looking back on this year just makes me really grateful for getting to be able to create, for the opportunities to direct my first micro-short film and be Director of Photography on a stop-motion short film, and for everyone who’s followed along and supported me!

Sylva, November 13th
Back out to shoot some street photography, nearing the end of my junior year, I want to be able to capture and show you some of my favorite parts of this little college town while I am still here working and creating films.☺️

“Hagstone” Intermediate directing project, and my first film at WCU as a Director! This experience was really out of my comfort zone, I’m usually behind the camera but I loved the opportunity to be able to create something on video that I had wrote and directed!

I cannot be more grateful for my wonderful team that made this film possible to create! I appreciate all of you❤️

I feel that the creative process between our team was one of the best! I loved the work I was able to create and the lighting techniques I was able to implement!
