Dear New Mom,
First, take a deep breath.
You just did something incredible.
You brought a new life into this world, and whether your delivery went exactly as planned or nothing like you imagined, you are here. You are healing. You are learning. You are becoming.
Motherhood is one of life’s greatest gifts, but let’s be honest—it is also one of the hardest journeys you will ever walk.
Your body is recovering. Your emotions are shifting in ways you didn’t expect. You’re learning your baby’s cries, feeding patterns, sleepy cues, and somehow trying to take care of yourself all at the same time. Some moments feel overwhelming. Some feel uncertain. And many leave you quietly wondering if you’re doing any of it right.
As a mother of six, I understand more than I can ever fully put into words.
I know the joy of watching your baby sleep and feeling like your heart might burst. I know the fears that rise in the quiet of the night. I know the exhaustion, the tenderness, the uncertainty, and the constant questions that come with loving someone so deeply from the very beginning.
But I also know this:
You are doing better than you think.
Your baby doesn’t need perfection. Not a perfect home, not a perfect routine, not a perfect version of you. They simply need you—your arms, your voice, your comfort, your presence.
Give yourself grace.
The laundry can wait. The dishes can wait. The house doesn't have to be spotless. These precious days are not about perfection—they are about connection.
And while the days may feel long right now, I promise you from the bottom of my heart… it truly goes by in the blink of an eye.
One day you will miss the tiny stretches, the sleepy sighs, the way they curl into you, and how perfectly they fit in your arms. The exhaustion will fade, but these moments become the ones you hold onto forever.
This is also why I created my in-hospital newborn sessions.
Because in those first days, you should not have to worry about packing a diaper bag, leaving your room, or making it to a studio appointment while you are still healing and adjusting to life with your baby.
Instead, you can simply rest in your hospital bed, breathe, and be present with your newborn—while their very first portraits are gently captured right there beside you.
With a calm, baby-led approach, I bring a full studio experience into your hospital room, creating timeless, elegant images without the stress or rush of leaving those quiet early moments behind.
No packing. No travel. No pressure.
Just you, your baby, and the beginning of a story you will never want to forget.
With love,
A fellow mom who has been there 💛
