Asuka Visions Digital Media Storyteller: Reconnecting us to Food

Based in Melbourne, Victoria. Travelling worldwide.

09/17/2026

It's been about one year since starting my journey in food storytelling through videography.

This story was one of my firsts produced after commencing food storytelling. Although there is lots of room for improvement, I have been sincerely enjoying the storytelling process.

Through food storytelling, so far I've learned that I get to:

- Learn about produce and how we are connected to it on a global and micro scale.
- Indulge in producing a story from start to finish.
- Hone my own communication and interview style.
- Learn about new gear.
- Learn more about editing techniques.

Best of all? My heart gets to feel extra warm meeting great people who are involved with food.

It has been over 10 years since beginning my journey of visual storytelling, and I'm glad to know that this will always be a part of my life.

Feel free to join me as I continue editing, filming, and learning.

Keeping you updated:

Currently I am mid-way through shooting two food short documentaries. One of the stories is based at a beautiful farm called , down in Mornington Peninsula.

Q&A

❓When did you start this project?

📸 This project began in October. Shooting is expected to conclude at around April. If you include editing, I reckon it'll go until at least June 2026.

❓What stage is the wheat/barley at right now?

📸 In October, they were green like grass. Just beautiful. Right now I believe most of them have senesced, and now carry a warm, golden colour.

❓What's been your favourite part of shooting this project so far.

📸 That's a good question. I've enjoyed so many components of this journey, starting from meeting the genuine, warm family, seeing the adorable bakery, trying their top-notch pastries, to learning about the wheat.

My favourite part though, is the peace at that at Tuerong as I feel with the wind blow my way. When standing at the top of the field, the view of the wheat and barley varieties gently swaying is mesmerising. Then, when the wind blows by, oh my gosh. Nothing can replace such a feeling. I could sit there for hours.

Up next is harvesting. I can't wait to see it, and show you! Big thanks again to for sharing your time and welcoming me to your beautiful farm.

Stay tuned for other update videos :).
