The calendar is beginning to take shape. Last year, I did a Minnesota only one. It didn't sell anywhere near what previous years have. This year, I'm back to some of my favorites regardless of location. There's a very good chance that Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana, Arizona, Iowa & South Dakota are all going to be represented. Getting 45 photos down to 14-16 will definitely be a challenge, but I'm excited to get it put together!

I’ve been meaning to make a post about the sale & slaughter of wild horses by the US government, but I can’t seem to find the words to articulate just how insane this all is. However, it, like nearly everything else this regime has done was right there in Project 2025 for those of us who are literate and care about what happens in our country to read. They said they’d do this. They said they’d destabilize the food supply. They said they’d destroy our public lands. Anyways, I’m sure I’ll get some pushback about my opinions, but I don’t care. This is insane.

The ways in which Pearl Jam & especially the two albums I’m here to talk about and the ways they changed my life are immeasurable.
In the simplest of terms, Ten helped me to look deeper beyond superficial music towards something meaningful.
No Code helped my understanding of what pushing the boundaries in order to not be boxed into one thing. The intentional pushing the boundaries of their sound was a recoil away from pop-rock superstardom & the pressures that come with that. It was a survival instinct that has paid off for 35 years.
I know for me personally, that pulling back when pressure becomes too much in order to let it pass, to collect myself & my thoughts has been so helpful in my life. All of it has. Looking for depth from people & in conversations rather than superficial relationships. The exploring of & immersing myself in new territory, whether it’s photography, music, culture…
It ALL traces back to these two albums who came out on this day in 1991 & 1996 respectively.

Just got back last night from a little adventure with my son to the Black Hills. He wanted to hike Black Elk Peak, so we built the trip around that.
This spot was about a mile into the hike & among our first views of the old fire tower atop the peak.
Did you know that it is the highest peak between the Rocky Mountains & Switzerland at 7,242' above sea level?
