Family can be complicated, and your wedding day doesn't have to pretend otherwise. 🤍

Not every bride has a dad who's present, safe, or part of her story, and that's okay. Who walks you down the aisle is yours to choose. Your mom. Your grandfather. Your best friend. Your brother. Your kids. Both parents. Nobody at all, because you're walking in on your own two feet.

The right person is whoever makes you feel held. Tradition is just a starting point, and you get to write the rest.

I remember every single wedding I’ve ever photographed. Every couple has made their mark on me and it’s always such a joy to look back on their day, whether it was last week or 6 years ago.

Rachel and Vishnu had the sweetest PNW backyard wedding on the Hood Canal back in 2021. Having known Rachel for a number of years I can confidently say this day was very Rachel coded! Low key but elegant. Kid friendly but also very chic. Everything had a purpose, from the paper bag lunches (with gourmet sandwiches and Indian options) to the butterfly release - Rachel’s dad was a butterfly enthusiast and although he wasn’t there in body he definitely made an appearance in spirit.

Days like Rachel and Vishnu’s are a reminder of why I do what I do. Days like this deserve to be remembered in the best way possible 🤍
