Took a spur of the moment trip to the Outer Banks, more specifically Cape Hatteras National Seashore. We were running low on time so we went over to Bodie Island Lighthouse just before the sun went down. I’ve never actually seen this lighthouse before so it was most certainly worth the drive.

Back in October we purchased our first National Park passport book and while it may be a tall task our goal is to complete it. It’s been interesting to learn about these sites like this one. Moore’s Creek right here in NC, was an important battle in the pursuit of American independence. The bridge is a replica of one that was there in 1776, the Patriots dismantled most of the bridge to make it harder for the Loyalists to cross the creek but when they finally crossed the Patriots bombarded them with gunfire and the battle is estimated to have lasted only 3 minutes.
