Introducing the Newlyweds!

When asked to describe their vision for their wedding day- Kelli and Alan used four simple but remarkable words: relaxed, and happy, classy and elegant, and it was every bit of that and more. Despite the rain, when I arrived, the bridesmaids said, “the vibes are high,” and they truly were all day long!

This wedding was especially meaningful to me because I had the honor of photographing Kelli’s sister’s wedding a few years ago. Being invited back into the same family to document another one of life’s most meaningful milestones is something I never take for granted, and I’m incredibly grateful for the trust that comes with it.

Kelli and Alan, I’m so excited for you both and wish you all the best and much love as you start this new chapter as husband and wife! 🤍

Yesterday’s rain couldn’t dampen the excitement of these two to celebrate!

One of the things Julia & Jeremy mentioned during our very first consult call was how much they were looking forward to the unique opportunity to parade from their ceremony to the reception. For most of the day, it honestly didn’t look like the weather was going to cooperate — but thankfully, the rain paused for just enough time for them to lead all of their favorite people from the church to the party to celebrate their marriage. Plus, we even managed to sneak in a few outdoor portraits in the beautiful Monastery courtyard just before the rain returned!

I’ve found myself thinking about K & Z’s wedding lately every time I spot these beautiful purple “pom-pom” blooms around Cincinnati — strolling through the zoo with my kiddos, driving past Smale Park, and during an engagement session at Alms Park.

Family formals matter.

Not just because they’re tradition — but because they often become photographs that grow more meaningful with time.

Being on vacation with my own family this past week has me thinking about their weddings someday… and how I’ll want one photo of our original crew. All of us together. Just as we are in that season. (I know I will be beaming with pride - with all five of my babies all grown up and dressed up on such a joyous occasion.)

In recent years, I’ve offered that “original fam” photo as an option to my couples to commemorate where it all started and what was (along with a list of other typical groupings too of course!) There is so much to be celebrated- the newlyweds with each of their families as they’ve grown over the years. The bride with her parents just after seeing her dad for the first time that morning. Mom doting on her son just after pinning on his boutonnière. Time set aside for photos with grandparents just before the ceremony.

These images deserve a bit of intention. A thoughtful timeline — whether that means beginning a little earlier in the day, protecting a few minutes after the ceremony, or carving out space during cocktail hour — ensures they feel calm rather than rushed.

The day moves quickly.
Good planning creates room to breathe.

When your vendor team values both efficiency and meaning, and of course aims so serve you and your priorities, it allows these moments to unfold smoothly — and with care.

Just had to share a few favorites from K & M’s engagement session on the golf course in honor of the Masters this weekend. ⛳️

We’ve had the tournament on all afternoon — watching from the patio with my husband, sipping an Azalea, the kids playing outside.

Days like this remind me how sweet this season of life really is. Real grateful.
