Great morning of fishing on Oak Creek. The weather was great, approximately 65° and slightly cloudy. The trout and the bass were biting. A bunch of rainbows, a few smallmouth bass, and a lone largemouth bass. Also came into pretty close distance with a big Blackhawk doing some morning fishing as well!

Fishing Oak Creek, Arizona. I caught several fish in the creek mostly on inline spinners, but also a few on nightcrawlers when the spinner bite was slow. I caught many bass, largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted, all of which were pretty tiny. I also managed to catch two native desert suckers on nightcrawlers. It would've been nice to catch bigger fish, but it's always fun when you're catching lots of fish!

10 days until my annual trip to Arizona! We have an overnight kayaking trip planned, so I will have plenty of fishing footage! Largemouth and smallmouth bass, flathead and channel catfish, trout, and some native species tend to be common in the area.

The fish in the picture is a Sonora Sucker, a fish native to the Sonoran Desert. I managed to catch it on small treble hook baited with a piece of sherbert powerbait. They seem to travel in large groups and most of them seemed to be hook shy. Caught out of the Verde River watershed, Oak Creek.
