Letting Go of Doubt

What is one way you have grown this year? I've been keeping more faith in myself and letting go of the doubt, criticisms and fears that used to hold me back. No, no suffered traumas to recover from. Just me getting in my own way in the past. It's time to set aside those fears and just do it anyway. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "Do one thing everyday that scares you." Great advice :).

The Martian Chronicles, sans Aliens

Do you think humans will ever colonize Mars? What would life there actually look like? I believe humans will colonize Mars, but let's hope we take better care of that planet than we have done with Earth so far. It's my hope that we can have some sort of cities there, and perhaps grow life on its surface. It would be rough, but with intelligence (we need to get that back), common sense and ingenuity, Mars could become our second home....

Samuel L Jackson Says It Without Saying a Word

What’s your favorite meme? Samuel L. Jackson, one of the finest actors of any generation, sometimes just has to look at another person as if to say "Really? Are you that stupid?" It's a look that would work well in some college classes. Jackson is a master of the "look at this clown" face. It's also followed by a "Do I really have to hold a conversation with this mother f****r?" This meme gets right to the point. I like a meme and a man who can do that .

Diwali Festival

What’s a cultural tradition from another country that you wish existed in yours? I would love the Diwali Festival to come to our country someday, if it hasn't in some form already. The idea of a five day festival celebrating light over dark, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance along with experiencing delicious food makes me happy. According to what I've read, Diwali starts on November 5th; I'd happily skip over Thanksgiving and Christmas as I'm sure I'd be too tired to cook turkey or sing carols afterwards. Anyone have a Diwali festival in their area? Let me know!
