Life update: I have my Masters degree now and 2 teaching credentials! 12 years ago, I withdrew from UCI with honorable dismissal and didn’t know if I would ever finish college. I did summer school in summer 2013 but did not raise my GPA high enough to be readmitted to UCI yet. I did summer school the following year and received an A in my Education class at UCI and finally rose my GPA up high enough to be readmitted! I graduated from UCI in 2016. Next, I went to OCC for a couple years so I could learn about the early childhood years and worked in a preschool. Following that, I applied to USC for the MAT online program and got in! It took a lot of hard work and many tears, but I was able to finish my program with the support of my MAT cohort, family, friends, mentors, professors, and church community. Thank you God for blessing me with the gift of my education and for everyone that prayed for me ❤️ I am the first cousin to get my Master’s degree and I hope I am an inspiration to future generations. I am a proud Latina and Filipino with my Master’s degree and two teaching credentials! 😄 Never give up. If I can do it, so can you! As Babe Ruth said, “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game”.-Babe Ruth. #2024
