Top-Down View of the Nickel Plate Road Roundhouse, Bellevue, Ohio (10/10/26)
Three photos merged together to create this one spectacular photo.
The NKP Roundhouse in Bellevue, Ohio, was the last and most modern steam roundhouse built in the U.S. (1948) by the Nickel Plate Road, a vital hub for servicing locomotives until steam ended in 1959, and is now a decaying ruin owned by Norfolk Southern, with its roof removed in 2012, making preservation unlikely but keeping its legacy alive through photos and local railroad history.
