I made a quick up to Katmai National Park in Alaska last week. The number of bears was low because of the late salmon run. However, I did get a few shots. In this pic, I was approximately 50 yards from this bear as it was walking on the beach. Even at that distance, making eye contact can make the heart race bit!

Earlier this year, I had an eagle encounter like I had never had before. The evening light made the water look like lava. I want to print one of these to hang in my office but cant decide which one. 1) the approach, 2) the grab or 3) the exit. I would appreciate some help. Let me know which one you like best. Perspective!!! I can't recall ever getting a shot of an eagle from this vantage point. Fun to see the specks of black on the head as it approaches the soon to be dinner fish.

Spent a few hours in the rain with this little guy (burrowing owl, Lane County OR) today. It was happy hanging out on this culvert and keeping an eye on the nearby ditch and field. At one point I did see it expel an owl pellet.
