My heroes are the women who are comfortable with aging. Aging is beautiful and natural and shows off the experience and wisdom you have gained throughout your life. When we ensure that there is purpose and passion in our lives, our age does not hinder us. We are beautiful, we are serving others, we are enjoying life. When all we have is this day, make it enjoyable no matter how old you are.

BECOMING A WOMAN
I watched a movie recently that included a Latina girl's quinceanera, and how it was a celebration of her becoming a woman. A quinceanera happens when a girl is 15 years old, and that's an appropriate time I think...girls typically hit puberty between 13 to 16 years old, and that's the process of becoming physically mature enough to be able to make babies. This time of our lives for both boys and girls is often challenging, awkward, uncomfortable, but also exciting and fun. We become more aware of our sexuality and attraction to others, which is a cool aspect to life! I rejected the word "woman" to represent me when I was even in my early twenties, because it felt too old for how I felt as a person. But it doesn't need to. Being a woman is incredible, and the more us women recognize our inherent power, the more fun being a woman and an adult becomes.

He was ready to update his after ten years. We get older, we get wiser, and we want to look like the photo people see of us online. David did an excellent job and had a good sense of humor about everything. It's true that getting your portrait taken can be awkward sometimes, but I make it as easy and comfortable as possible, and even a lot of fun. Now his images show off who David is today as he expands his role as a professor. Ten years is a long time to wait of course, and I highly recommend that if you haven't updated your headshot in two years or more, it's time. :)
