-Lincoln’s Sparrow

A small pale-gray sparrow with fine streaks on its breast. It is found in the RGV during its nonbreeding season. It prefers dense brush and usually forages close to the ground. Not named after the president, but after Thomas Lincoln, the man who collected the specimen in one of Audubon’s expeditions.

-Vermilion Flycatcher (Immature)

Falcon State Park is a probable place to see vermilion flycatchers. You might see them as you drive to the park entrance, perched on the high fence on the property across from the park. You may also see them around the camping area catching their food. They can also be found by the water, like this one.

-Osprey

It’s nice to see Ospreys back in Falcon State Park. They tend to leave for the summer. I’ve seen a couple around for about a month now. I was able to record this one eating a fish. I’m no osprey, but it seems to be dropping a lot of it😅 there must be a reason for it, though. It might just be going for the meat.
