Ecclesurfilm Analog Photography

Ecclesurfilm Analog Photography I create artistic images on home developed 35mm film to inspire and make connections with others. P I do not use Photoshop for this process.

In 2019, I discovered analog (also known as film) photography and began using this medium to photograph people in the Texas surf and skate community. I enjoy capturing a variety of moments from action shots in the water, portraits on the beach, and candid scenes. I frequently use floral images as overlays to create double exposures and turn the image into abstract artwork. Since I shoot on film, t

he double exposures are shot blind, meaning I do not know which exposure is overlaying on another when creating the overall image. Using black & white and color negative, all images are captured on 35mm film. I use a Nikonos V for water images and a Canon T-90 or AE-1 for land images. The film is home developed in my kitchen using an Ars-Imago Lab Box. I use C-41 chemistry to develop the color negatives and a homemade developer made with instant coffee powder, called Caffenol, for the black & white images. Once developed, I scan the film to digitize the images. Then, I transfer the files to my computer where I can make minor edits for spot corrections, if needed. Once the image is corrected to my liking, it gets uploaded to my social media. Thank you for reading about my work!
