Just looked at the weather for this weekend and we should be a go for both days. My main concern is actually the sun. Typically, the smoke shots are done indoors or at dust/night when you can get a dark backdrop. Unfortunately, during baseball season the sun doesn't set until like 8:30pm (which is great!....just not for these types of photos π). I cannot get the full colored smoke effect in direct sunlight, only in the shade. So, if the full sun if out on the field on either day (typically between 6pm-7:15ish) I will be setting up on the north side of the clubhouse, near the bathrooms, where it is shady. Once the sun is off the field around 7:15-30ish, I'll move the equipment to the field. I'm hoping for cloudy skies! Saturday looks sunnier and windier than Sunday right now.
Please come with some ideas of poses in mind before you get in front of the camera. These sessions are short and back-to-back, so a lot of time cannot be spend trying to decide what pose to do when it comes your time in front of the πΈ. Feel free to bring props and examples of poses you'd like! Please try to keep your poses to more stationary stance or simple action photos (ex. jumping in the air). I will not be doing more advanced action photos (ex. sliding to base, capturing a pitch, hitting a ball, etc.) as those require me to move my equipment around and spend several minutes on multiple takes to get the correct timing.
