This family was a lot, but not in the way you think.

There were a lot of people and a lot of personalities. There was also a lot of giggly running, a lot of sweet snuggles, a lot of hugs and kisses, a lot of smiles, a lot of patience, a lot of joy, a lot of different special connections between these sweet siblings and between the kids and their parents.

What a blessing it is for these kids to be raised by these loving parents and all that they’re learning about patience, love, kindness, and joy. Thank you, Flatt family, for letting me into your little world and for being troopers through the cold October evening.

This session was good for the soul. 💕

The experience of photographing Maycee for her senior portraits was a breeze.

From the moment I stepped out of the car to the moment we parted ways just after sunset, she was completely at ease.

Everywhere we went, I'd say, "I wonder if we could try that," and Maycee was quick with a cheerful, "Okay!" She was up for anything, so the evening was a delightful experience, and Maycee will have a gallery full of photos that capture her joyful spirit. 💜

Her talent for switching between a smile, a smirk, and an all out giggle made for a variety of truly stunning images that showcase her joyful, carefree personality. 🌟 She plans to pursue journalism in the future, where her ability to visit with anyone and go with the flow will serve her well.

Maycee was content to make very few requirements of her senior pictures, but the one she had was photos with Grandpa's blue truck. The girl has an eye! I'm so grateful for this lovely fall session!

The Hanson Family - to know them is to love them. 💜

Big sis is the hype woman and commander-in-chief. She is full of light and energy. I chased her everywhere she went. She knew where we should go and what photos we should take, and this gallery is stunning because of her joyfulness and spirit! 🌟

Little bro is already her best friend, and it's easy to see that they were meant to be siblings. He is casual and goes with the flow. He was fighting a cold but never shed a tear or had a tantrum. When he smiled, he smiled BIG. 😁 And when he got tired, he just snuggled up and waited.

Mom and Dad are the perfect team for this family. Dad is perpetually positive and actively looking for the good. Mom is the hero of the hidden details, working behind the scenes to curate the outfits, curl the hair, and make it all happen. They are both patient and loving toward each other and the whole family. 💕

Paige & Seth, your family is pure joy, and I can't stop smiling looking through your photos. I can't wait to share the rest!

It’s been such a blessing to get to capture this cool, tight-knit family for the last three years!

Jackie works so hard to find a coordinating date in everyone’s schedules, and she always finds a way. 🙌

The morning fog slowly dissipated as our session got going, and the family was, as always, a treat to work with! The whole crew is up for anything, and we had time to get a variety of pictures. Maverick stole the show with his sweet smile, and he was especially excited to take pictures with his two fun aunts!

Rori's got a laid-back personality that is enviable.

While he's clearly a passionate person, his easy-going nature doesn't waver. Whether working through tough things in the classroom, joking around with his buddies, or hitting the field on Friday nights in the fall, he's slow to anger, quick to laugh, and genuinely a good guy.

His easy-going nature even extends to his car, which few men can say. There's an interesting story about his brother selling Rori's car right before school started. The way he told the story, it seemed like he just shrugged and left it up to his brother to get him a new one. It all worked out, and he was happy to feature the car in some of his senior pictures.

And I can't connect it to anything else, but it should be noted...as we drove to different locations around Cooperstown, Rori got the door for his girlfriend at every stop. He's got that old-school class. 🙌

She knows what she wants. 🙌🏻

She has the most endearing way of declaring it too: As I chatted with Chloe throughout the session, on several occasions, she was talking about making her dreams a reality, and she would flip her wrist forward, point her finger, and say playfully, "Mine."

Her mom tells me she's been driven like this since she was little. Her skill for making her vision come to fruition has been it's own reward. Dozer came to be her dog because of it. Her senior session was an absolute dream because of her style & location choices - the Rainbow Garden was 🤩 and the bridge suited her edgy style perfectly. 😎

Her plans next year are up in the air, but I suspect when the right opportunity presents itself, Chloe will be ready to declare, "Mine," and proceed to build herself a life she loves.

Chloe, thank you for the lovely session! I wish you all the best - and I can't wait for you to see the rest of your images! 😍

What an honor it has been to watch this family grow over the last 10 years.

Mari is bright, independent, and savvy - she brought (and achieved) her own wardrobe change for the session. 😎

Koa is a verb, a noun, and an adjective. She dances to her own song with a carefree spirit. 💃🏼

Arlo is two now, and it's so fun to see his personality develop. He loves fun, so as long as someone is tickling him, throwing him, or chasing him, he's up for anything. 🙃

Zach and Katelyn have done more in 10 years than simply grow a family. They've spent the time living with intention. They're always striving to do and try more. They keep learning so that they can live wiser. They're passionate about simplifying to enjoy the small things more.

Life with littles is bananas. This crew makes it look easy, cozy, and beautiful. 💞
