Consider this your permission slip to stop stressing about whether your kids will “cooperate” for family photos. 😂

They don’t need to sit perfectly still.
They don’t need to smile on command.
They definitely don’t need to look at my camera the entire time.

Let them be silly. Let them cling to you. Let them make faces at their sister. Let them run around when they’re over it.

We’ll get the smiling-at-the-camera photo for Grandma’s frame. 😉 But the personality, the chaos, the belly laughs, the way they reach for you without thinking about it?

That’s the good stuff.

Your kids don’t need to behave for me. They just need to be themselves. I’ll handle the rest. 🤍

One of my goals during every engagement session has nothing to do with the photos.

I want you to leave feeling like you just spent a really good evening together.

We'll walk around, talk, laugh at whatever ridiculous prompt I gave you five minutes earlier, and somewhere along the way you'll probably stop thinking about the camera altogether.

When that happens, everything changes.

The smiles get easier. The photos feel more like memories. And instead of wondering if you looked awkward, you leave thinking, "That was actually a lot of fun."

If your engagement session feels more like a date than a photoshoot, I know we did something right.

Everyone wants beautiful engagement photos, but if I'm being honest, my favorite images are almost never the ones where you're standing perfectly still. They're the ones in between; the laugh after I tell you to whisper something ridiculous, the way you instinctively reach for each other's hand, or the smile that sneaks out before I even lift my camera back up.

Those are the moments I remember from a session. They're also the ones I know you'll treasure years from now because they don't just show what this season looked like, they remind you what it felt like.

That's why I spend less time worrying about perfect poses and more time creating an experience where you can simply be together.
