09/24/2025
On September 23rd 2024, we had to say goodbye to the baby we never got to meet. We named her Wren Nevaeh (the one that flew away to Heaven). A year later the grief is still real… but so is the love.
It makes me sad that you will never get to play with your baby brother. I don’t know what you would have looked like, but I imagine you would have looked as beautiful as your Mother.
It’s hard not to imagine the memories that we never got to have with you.
I wish…
I could have had the chance to perform magic tricks with you and tell you stupid dad jokes. What I wouldn’t give to know what your giggles sounded like. To know what it felt to have you hold my hand as we walked aside each other.
I wish…
I could have sang and played guitar for you. I would have loved to see you dance, and even better… have you dance with me.
Imaginary Tea by Jon McLaughlin is a song that Lizzie and I would sing along with after discovering we were pregnant last year. Every time we hear it we think of her. The lyrics hit differently now, but they still say everything our hearts feel.
Mommy & Daddy ❤️ you.
*Imaginary Tea*
I love you more than you will ever know
I love you no matter what you do
I’m gonna hold you as long as you will let me
‘Cause you’re mine, I love you
I loved you before I heard ever heard your voice
Before I even knew your name
I loved you before I saw those pretty eyes
I loved you right away
So take it slow
Before you know it, you’ll be old and grown
Just remember that I’m always here
Hands you can hold on to
I love you
Don’t worry what anybody else will say
Don’t hurry to break that precious heart
When you try to be like somebody else
Remember I love you the way you are
So take it slow
Before you know it, you’re gonna be old and grown
Just remember that I’m always here
Hands you can hold on to
And I love you
So let’s climb every tree
And drink imaginary tea
And speak a language only we can understand
And I will fight back the tears
As we fly through the years
And I’ll keep you as close as I can
I love you more than you will ever know
I love you no matter what you do
And I’m gonna hold you as long as you will let me
‘Cause you’re mine, I love you
