I’ve been a photographer for 20 years. My cameras have taken me all over the world and given me so much. Over the last several years I’ve transitioned my time to creating with wood. Photography has turned into a treasured hobby. Most Sundays you will find me at Hickory Grove Baptist Church still taking photos. I’ve not quit but man I enjoy it so much more. Every week I get to take photos of people that I love. Photography will always be in my life it just won’t be how I feed my family. Find that thing that charges your batteries and brings joy to your life.

We went to a place today that we were told not to tell anyone about. “You can take photos but don’t share the location.” The kids would call that “Gate Keeping”. It was not an easy hike and honestly it wasn’t a marked hike. People tell friends who tell friends who try to keep it mildly a secret. We saw a handful of people on the trail but not like other trails. I understand why people keep this place a secret.

My favorite week of the year. Camp is a place that is so far from reality. That is probability why it is so special to me. You leave the world behind to venture back in time to simpler times. The problems of the world aren’t gone but they are certainly paused for just a few days. Decisions for the Lord are made, friends are found and for a moment life makes sense. Take a moment to remember that feeling. Growing up is a choice. I choose to feel the world around me as if I was young again.

I love this photo so much and how it makes me feel. This photo is everything that is and hopes to do for kids. In a moment at the end of such a special experience with the in Chapel Hill, NC I snapped this photo. It was half a moment before Kendall was gone playing basketball again. It was an honor to have it featured so much last night at the 9th annual Dream on 3 Dream Gala. The event raised over one million dollars to pay for more life changing Dream experiences. Excited to photograph another year of dreams!

I love North Carolina. The Ole North State just has so much beauty and diversity. Corolla is at the very eastern point of the state. The pavement ends and the sand of the beach is the only way home for so many residents. It is wild to think that this is the same state I live. If you haven’t explored our beautiful state give it a chance. North Carolina continues to blow me away with its beauty.
