🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 5 star review from Jeremiah Diaz: A real game-changer for coin and slab photography!

As I watched your video with Kinzer Coins, I was glad you two were able to work out some of the issues that coin collectors encounter with raw coin and coin slab photography. Years ago, I was an amateur macro and nature photographer, using a Nikon D800e, and I have since tried many ways to apply learned lighting techniques to capture accurate and detailed images of my ancient coin inventory. I often sacrificed valuable time to setup the staging area, leading to long hours and many shutter clicks to get the best rendition and resolution. I’m hopeful that your product will help me leverage the balance between the value of my time and the value of the object being photographed, while creating competitive marketing images. After many hours of testing, I determined that the Halumin-C works really well with coins that have luster (silver, gold, electrum, shiny copper, and proofs), but dull and dark coin surfaces with subtle reliefs, like many worn ancient bronze coins, are always difficult to capture the sharp details and beauty that only the eye can see. All-in-all, it’s worth the investment and it saves time once you find the most optimal lighting and platform adjustments. Thank you very much! I’ve shared it with my network!

🦅 Artifact Friday: Bird-of-Prey Effigy Pipe

Unearthed from nearly 17 feet below the surface at the Crenshaw site in Miller County, Arkansas, this extraordinary effigy pipe is carved from fine-grained white stone.

It depicts a powerful bird of prey perched on a human figure, grasping the person’s head in its beak — a striking image of strength and mystery from the ancient Mississippian world.

✨ Come see this incredible piece in person at the Museum of Native American History and explore the artistry and symbolism of Native peoples across the Americas.

🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 5 star review from William Klodnicki: Product and service in my opinion is unparalleled. I have yet to use the device.

When I begin to take photographs with the device, I will share them with you share my settings with you and hope to learn from you some of the settings, but I’m currently using is a Nikon D 500 with an 85 mm macro, lens tripod, carbon fiber with like a $600 head. Everything works great on the inside and I’ve done some playing around with turning on and off different light settings, and in coming up with the different settings of the coins and it is perfect I don’t know. I thought there was one panel that was supposed to be used with a cell phone that didn’t come with not like I care. I will never use a cell phone to take a photograph of a coin to publish or to you post anywhere, but I don’t know if that was an oversight or if that was something that I had to order extra, but everything else is great. I also saw you did reinforce that thin plastic member, Outstanding you actually listened to you customer. I will be passing on the highest opinion and honor the this product deserves to my fellow numismatic photographers, because right now I’m the first I like being on the cutting edge and with the product like yours oh hell, yeah!!

Halumin C making coin photography easy again. There is an amazing amount of artistry in ancient coins. Even more impressive when you consider these were engraved by had be someone 2000 years ago without a magnifying glass or modern tools, making a scene that attempted to tell a story on a tiny bit of metal.

We have put a lot of focus on using the Halumin C with the lid on, but you can also get a lot of utility with the lid off. The Halo on the Halumin C does an amazing job illuminating the details for macro images as well as with a coin microscope. Most phones have a macro mode that lets you position the phone very close to the details. If you are looking for double stamps or anomalies, Halumin C’s patented Open Cylindrical light makes them pop. Have a look at these detailed captured on our iPhone today. The gold coin was an attempt to determine if it was a counterfeit by an infamous counterfeiter. A counterfeit version of this coin would have shown a small Omega symbol in the middle of the R. None was found so it’s real. The silver coin shows the M signature of the engraver. You can see it very clearly next to the hair above the 1. Coins are full of Easter eggs.

🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 5 star review from Customer: Halumin "C" Lighting System: A Game-Changer for Coin Photography

As a commercial photographer and lighting designer, I’ve rigged countless setups for capturing reflective surfaces, but the Halumin "C" has redefined my workflow. This circular, open-light design is a revelation for photographing coins, delivering unparalleled results for both raw and slabbed pieces. Having already invested in two of the larger H18 units, I added the compact "C" to my arsenal, and it’s quickly become a standout.

The "C" strikes a perfect balance of size and performance. Unlike the H18, which demands more space than my desk allows, the "C" fits seamlessly into tighter setups. Setup is a breeze—within five minutes, I had it ready to go. Paired with a camera locked in full manual mode, the intuitive slider adjustments let me fine-tune lighting without ever touching the camera or subject. This precision translates to a gallery of crisp, stunning images with minimal effort.

The lighting quality is exceptional, rendering intricate details and textures with clarity that’s ideal for appraisals or auction catalogs. It’s not just a lightbox; it’s a transformative tool that accelerates workflow while producing professional-grade results. For coin photography, the Halumin "C" is as indispensable as a 10x loupe—a must-have for anyone serious about capturing reflective objects with finesse.

Our Story

In 2003, while on a photo assignment in Hawaii, Jeremy Mason McGraw found himself thumbing through the brochure for the upscale resort where he was staying. The photos of the hotel rooms in the brochure looked and felt nothing like the room he saw in person.

Where there should have been an incredible wall-length window view of one of the best beaches in the world, the photos showed an overexposed square of light.

Where Jeremy saw materials with vibrant patterns and luxurious textures, in the brochure these details were lost to flat lighting and harsh shadows. Where Jeremy felt warmth and comfort watching the sun dip below the horizon from that giant window, and later sinking into a soft and comfortable bed, the brochure images showed an ordinary, generic-looking hotel room.

Through his photo assignment, Jeremy had the opportunity to see inside the rooms of many other resorts in the area, and each time he compared his experience of the room to the brochure the resort provided. In every brochure the problem was the same. Jeremy found uninteresting photos that paled in comparison to the beautiful, warm, and luxurious rooms they were supposed to represent. For Jeremy, the realisation sparked an idea: to combine his creative talent and technical expertise to launch an agency capable of capturing and conveying the true experience a place offers.
