On my first visit to NYC this year, I wanted to make a point to stop and really take it all in.

The most important thing to me on this trip was to see where the towers stood. And standing on the other side of the river and looking at where the towers stood...well it took my breath away.

Then visiting Freedom Tower and the 9/11 memorials was heart wrenching.

My heart still hurts for all the family's that were impacted by this act of hate. But somehow, on that day and for a long time afterward, there was this overwhelming sense of connection with my fellow man/woman. Not to mention the sense of gratitude for the men and women who serve to protect us, both here and overseas.

On this day, I am reminded how very fragile this time on earth is. Hug each other a little tighter today. And be sure to thank those that serve to protect us (police, fire, paramedics, and military).

We will never forget!
