One of my favorite families from last year. I’ve known Ashley for half of my life, which for someone who moved and wasn’t really able to keep elementary childhood friends, that feels like a really strange concept. When they were expecting their third we planned a day for a small session mixed with as much catching up as two women with four kids under 10 possibly can. The universe blessed us with a gorgeous day for a special summer moment.

My sweetest niece. Aurora wore this outfit six years ago for a little backyard photoshoot (swipe to see that sweet babe). It was one of the first times I looked at images I made and felt like I might really be good at this. I was so proud of them. I still am, but partly because I can see the persistence and growth between the images.

Packing away baby clothes is hard, but seeing another little one you love wear it softens the blow.

We have a very exciting update ⬇️

We are moving! We’re not going far, only about 20 minutes from our current house, but we couldn’t be more excited or feel more grateful.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We have been dreaming of a new lifestyle for us and the kids and this house feels like that dream come to life. The Columbus housing market is insane, and it often felt like we were waisting our time. How could we possibly find everything we wanted? Then this one came along and I didn’t think it was possible and was terrified of this house breaking my heart when we didn’t get it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But we did. I truly feel like this house was *meant* for us.

I was nervous telling the kids after two very hard moves I remember from my own childhood, but they both have taken the news with a bit of expected nerves and a lot of excitement. Swipe to see them exploring the house for the first time 🥺

We have a lot to figure out still, which is under a bigger time crunch thanks to my fa la la two week trip to Greece, but I know we will figure it out.

I’ll be honest, I’ve had a hard time figuring out how to show up on social media. Both in my personal photos account as well as here, especially as I’m restricting my operations so much this year. When I started this account I was so hungry and I honestly am not sure how to get that back. I’m trying to come to this place not as an acquisition tool, but simply posting because I want to. And posting the things that speak to me. I’m tired of agonizing over the grid and being paralyzed with what to say. I might still struggle to post here, but I think it won’t get easier unless I bring the joy back. These heirloom style portraits were one of those projects, I’d love to do more of them (if you’re interested maybe I’ll make an event, that seems to be the only way I can fit it in logistically this year).

I’ve also been silent because we’ve had a LOT of changes going on behind the scenes in our family (all good ones!). One of them being a long trip to Greece I’m taking in a couple of weeks! ✈️🏛️🥰

I am so behind on posting this little guy is about six months old now 🫣 he’s probably sitting up filled with rolls and looking completely different. Everyone says the first year flies by, but the truth is they all do. You turn around and they’re missing teeth (see my stories). It reminds me how special this job is 💗

Grateful this year for printed memories. So many of you have trusted me not only with photographing you during some of your most vulnerable and intimate moments, but also in creating artwork for those photographs to live on in your home. I spent the last week designing 4 albums and some holiday cards and it’s really special to see your images take that last step from a digital file to something tangible your family can enjoy forever 💗
