Dizgo Tour post 1/3:

In February I got to hit the road with a handful of Hoosiers, .band . We escaped 16”+ of snow in the icy tundra of the Midwest and set sail for Florida to put on 11 shows and countless impromptu collaborative jams. Those shows included 3 festivals, a cruise, countless rays from the sun, and even a Billy Strings after party. We shared good laughs, tasty seafood, explosive sunsets, hot jams, and boogied all night long a couple times.

My next 3 posts, including this one, will be a recap of my first 3 weeks of February. This post mostly includes the first two shows: in Jacksonville, FL, and in Ruskin, FL.

Wow… what a crazy event. Can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to weasel my way onto the boat. Can’t imagine missing one again!

I originally planned on just making one post to recap the 5 day festival in the ocean, but quickly ran out of real estate so I figure I’ll make a couple more.

Columbusss! .band plays tonight, hope to see ya there! Shots are from the band’s NYE run at about a month ago.

Today is also supposed to be a nationwide “ICE Out” strike to show that we, as the American working class, do not approve of an overfunded secret police force killing American citizens and kidnapping our neighbors. The idea is to NOT shop big corporations, so what better way to stick it to the man than seeing independent artists perform at an independent venue right here at home?

Maybe bring cash if you can, so the credit card companies don’t make a cut ;)

From my perspective, ICE and “border patrol” are now nothing but a hired group of mercenaries that operate with impunity. Watching what’s happening right now with the federal government funding a domestic wing of the armed forces before funding the needs of its citizens is appalling. The initiative was claimed to be to root out “the worst of the worst” in violent criminals committing atrocities against American citizens. To me, it looks like the worst of the worst have been given guns, badges, and high tech human tracking tools to kidnap, assault, and kill any target they have and any one that stands in their way. These are my views on the subject and I am entitled to them.

Everyone has seen the video of the killing of Renee Nicole Goodson in the streets a couple days ago in Minneapolis by now. These photos are from a protest in Columbus last night to show solidarity with Minneapolis and to show the rage that seeing this crime and the response by the Trump administration has caused this community. Something’s gotta give.

If you are a protester whose face was exposed in one of these photos and you’d like an image removed, please DM me and I will accommodate as soon as possible.

Shots from Goosemas N2 in Providence, RI.

I want to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for having been a part of this wild ride for the past 7+ years. They’ve been the best years of my life and I can’t understate the impact that these experiences have had on me personally, creatively, and professionally. Being Tour Photographer for Goose has been so much more than a job to me. It’s been my whole life.

From The Octave in Covington and SoHi Studios in Columbus to Red Rocks and MSG. What a fu***ng honor.

I also want to thank the crew and the fans that became family for welcoming me with warm embrace in so many ways over the years. The amount of pure intentioned hospitality and support I’ve received from so many has filled my cup in ways I didn’t know were possible.
