I’m not anti-timeline but when we become so focused on “what’s supposed to happen next” we leave little room for anything else to happen and then suddenly the day is almost over and you can’t even remember anything that happened outside of scheduled photo taking time

emo vulnerable post :’) but it’s true.. when I was going through my divorce two years ago, being a wedding photographer felt weird. I let myself feel whatever i wanted, but I was determined to not let this change my relationship to my job.

eventually I just began to reframe- not that I don’t believe in marriage or anything but that marriage itself isn’t the only thing worth celebrating on a wedding day. you can celebrate love and commitment for what it is right now in this very moment. it’s not a waste just because “forever” might not always be the case.

so many different types of relationships show up on a wedding day and those are also just as important if not more important than the person you choose to marry
