Columbus Crew ended with a draw against NYCFC. With eight players unavailable (half of those being International Call Ups) it provided an opportunity for two new members to make their debut. Ruvalcaba was the last member of the Starting XI, making his MLS debut. And homegrown Tristan Brown subbed into the second half, becoming the second youngest Crew player in club history to play in a match.

Another something new in 2025. NCAA Division 1 Platform Diving! Qualifiers advanced to the National Championship next week. It’s insane how fast these women dive, which made an exciting challenge to freeze the motion. Only had enough free time to see the women compete. But definitely putting this sport on my list again for next season.

This is what I needed today. A reminder that people can be strong, encouraging and compete with unparalleled sportsmanship. A reminder that everyone’s best looks different yet is no different in value. This is the only competition I know where the skill levels vary so much but the support amongst athletes and coaches does not. If you’ve never volunteered to help with Special Olympics you’re missing out on so much.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colon cancer is the second leading cause of death amongst cancer patients. Colorectal cancer does not care if you are male, female, a smoker, a runner, obese or thin. It targets everyone.

Doctors suggest getting a screening at age 45. But if you or your family physician see red flags, a colonoscopy is recommended at any age. (I had my first one at 38).

If you are in need of a gastroenterologist for this or any other digestive reasons, Gastro Office is accepting new patients. I was fortunate to do their office headshots this week. And while no one enjoys going to the doctor...this staff is beyond friendly and fun. (Yes...farts are funny to them, too!)
