Iโve seen the price of freedom up close. Personal. Unforgettable.
Sgt. James Johnston, KIA June 25, 2019.
I remember standing with Krista Johnston as she carried a strength no one should ever have to summon. I remember the day Jamie was born on Veteranโs Day. Her father wasnโt there. Only his urn. Silent in presence but never in flesh.
Sgt. Jamie D. Jarboe KIA March 21, 2012
He gave everything. A son. A husband. A father. An American hero.
Sgt. Edward W. Forrest Jr, KIA April 10, 2008
Today and every day, we should remember the ones who never came home. The ones whose lives should be honored beyond a single day. Let peace be our purpose, not war. Let their stories live on. Let their names be spoken. Honor their sacrifice by never forgetting what it cost. The freedom we enjoy was paid for by those who can no longer finish their stories.
Staff Sgt Gary L. Woods Jr, KIA April 10, 2008
May their names echo for generations. May they wake something in you that reminds you what truly matters.
Sgt. 1st Class Bruan E. Hall, KIA April 10, 2008
And hereโs the seed I hope this story plants.
Be someone who lives like freedom wasnโt free.
Be someone who makes peace louder than hate.
Be someone who chooses kindness when cruelty feels easier.
Cpl Jason G. Pautsch, KIA April 10, 2008
May we never forget those who fight for the red, white, and blue. May we stand louder for the soldiers, the families, and the sacrifices made by the men and women who have lost their lives to war, to the inner battles, and to the first fight they ever stepped into.
Pfc. Bryce E. Gautier, KIA April 10, 2008
May we shout their names in remembrance of what truth stands in ONE NATION. May their names echo louder than the media. Louder than the noise. Louder than the confusion of what America is becoming.
SSG Alejandro Chavoya
They chose to serve. They chose honor. They chose sacrifice. They lost their lifeโs protecting our freedom so we could sit at a table, go to work, walk freely, speak loudly, live fully. The cost of freedom is not found in your long weekend. Itโs not in a football game or a backyard barbecue. Itโs in the silence of a folded flag and the sound of a rifle at their funeral.
Chief Petty Officer Chris Kyle
They deserve more than one day. More than a plaque. More than a moment of silence. They deserve a country that locks arms and says, we will rise for you. We will protect each other. We will not forget.
Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy KIA June 28, 2005
May their souls fuel the next movement of peace. May they never be forgotten. And may every roll of thunder remind you of the soldier who never came home. The one who bled on soil that wasnโt theirs, so you could live another day on yours.
Sgt. Andy Southard, KIA 11/10/2023
May we remember what today is. Every damn day. May that memory grow like a vine into our daily lives. Until peace becomes the fight. Until no more names are added to the wall. Until no more families are handed flags instead of a future.
Chief Warrant Officer 3 Stephen R. Dwyer KIA 11/10/2023
Take a moment. Say their names.
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Shane M. Barnes KIA 11/10/2023
To every man and woman who never came home. Who died protecting the very freedom we get to live with every single day. May you know your purpose is not forgotten. Your name is not gone. Your story is unfinished. And we are the ones living it forward.
Staff Sgt. Tanner W. Grone KIA 11/10/2023
May your life never be just a memory. May it be the reason we rise to do better. To be better. To lead with unity. To live for something greater.
Sgt. Cade M. Wolfe KIA 11/10/2023
May every american flag flown be flown for you and only you. Because the flag was protected by your hands and life. And every flag that flies should carry your voice in the wind.
May your name roar through this nation.
May your sacrifice never be erased.
Gone, but you will not be forgotten.
