As the big corporations are swapping their logos out for rainbow-colored versions of their logos, I want to remind you that love and individuality is embraced here every day of the year. I don't need to announce that with a rainbow logo - and not just because I don't know how to do it 😂

Going to post this with some pictures of me looking way cooler in frame than in person, because sharing photos of my LGBTQ+ clients and friends *just* to make a point feels performative. I share them all year round and will continue to do so - but also if you want to get in on some Pride-themed photos this year let's do it!!

It's just about that time of year when I start asking people to get into the water for some truly unique portraits!

These are the shots that get really earthy, dreamy, and romantic. What starts out feeling really silly, wading into the cold ass water, ends up feeling so natural, and so connected to nature. You would be amazed at how quickly the self-consciousness drifts away when you're floating around, and I can always see the moment someone lets go. That's where the really good stuff is.

Water sessions are really special to me, and I'm sincerely hoping to get a couple free spirits in deep this year. If you're curious or intrigued, take my word for it and DO IT!

The best gifts don't need wrapping paper.

On this Mother's Day weekend, I'm not shifting the focus away from Mom, but I do want to shout out to the partners, husbands, fathers, etc. who quietly reach out and schedule those family sessions themselves.

It's a gesture that lets her know that we see Mom taking all the pictures on her phone, but she's never in them herself. She deserves to be remembered too! This is the gift that will outlive the flowers & chocolates, and taking care of the scheduling yourself is a fantastic gift (bonus points if you also coordinate outfits & take her out to dinner afterward).

If you're looking for something nice for Mom this year, gift her some time with your favorite photographer! 📸💛
