Update: I've been to the opthalmologist and am starting a round of the good drugs, and should be seeing improvement in the bad eye soon. Apologies for the dramatic posts, it's just been a scary couple of days after and I keep having the same conversations with people, so I wanted to get ahead of it.

Hey friends. A little update, particularly for those who have upcoming photo work with me.

Currently trying to keep it together and on track, but I'm struggling with some pretty significant health issues. All year I've been chasing the symptoms of some disorder, seeing multiple doctors, and having a handful of tests done. It's clearly an autoimmune issue, though I don't have any specifics or a name yet.

As of the past week, I have unfortunately lost sight in one eye. It's probably and hopefully temporary, but it's also very scary. You can imagine that for someone with a job that is very visual, this is creating a big problem.

I'm not cancelling any sessions yet, but I'm also unsure of what the near future looks like and what may further develop. Please be patient and understanding, and I will do my best to keep up.

This studio space is giving that clean, cozy, lived-in feeling, AND amazing light! Book a session and mention you want to use the Millennial Suite, and let go of any worries about the weather, or having people nearby to walk through the frame. I love using this location, and the versatility means that it suits just about any vision you have for your photos!

A few Dos and Don'ts for wedding party members, to make sure you are doing your best to make your friend's/relative's day the best it can be:

DO bring your personality into the photos! If you and the groom have a special handshake, let's see it! If you want to pose prom-style, we love it.

DON'T bring photos to a screeching halt because you don't want to have your picture taken. I promise the focal point is the couple getting married, and the only person paying attention to how stupid you think you look is you. Yes, it's a lot of photos. Yes, the couple really does want that many. Be thankful you don't have to cull through 3,000+ photos the day after.

DO drink water. Eat snacks. While you're at it, check to see if the newlyweds-to-be need refreshments. If you REALLY want to stand out as MVP, check on your photographers. 😘

DON'T get s**t-ass wasted. Don't do drugs in the bridal suite. Sure, it's a party, but let's make sure that we all remember it later and NOT have to remind you that someone else had to clean up after you.

DO your best to make sure your responsibilities are handled, and if you're struggling to attach the boutonniere, there's probably someone nearby who knows what they're doing. It isn't me, but it's somebody.

DON'T stress out our brides/grooms by panicking over hiccups. Life is unpredictable and s**t happens, but we're all going to smile and roll with it like that's exactly the way it's supposed to be, and it's going to be a beautiful day!

Just a reminder that I have this great robe available for portrait sessions - ask about using it for yours!

It photographs well in studio, but is versatile enough we can also take it outdoors and catch some GORGEOUS sunset vibes in nature. I'm dying to order another one in black, so give me a reason, you just give me ONE GOOD REASON!
