“My husband and I struggled.

After our IVF, 9 of my eggs were retrieved. Of those, only 5 could be fertilized and made into tiny embryos. Out of those embryos, only 3 made it to testing. After testing, only ONE little embryo was acceptable for a transfer. And that ONE was our miracle baby. AVA NICOLE.

There were so many “stop signs,” or so I thought. But really, what we were witnessing was God’s redirection. And we kept going. His plan is far greater than ours.”

When I met Sheridan, I wouldn’t have guessed that she has been through what she’s been through. She’s a ball of sunshine, a lovely person, and her eyes lit up whenever she talks about her beautiful miracle baby, Ava. Hearing her story made my heart swell with joy knowing that after a long road of challenges and struggles, there is always light. That miracles do happen.

*This week is National Infertility Awareness Week. It is estimated that in the United States, 1 in 5 women are unable to conceive within one year of trying, and about 48 million couples worldwide experience infertility.

Remember the feeling when you first heard your baby’s heartbeat? That feeling when you felt the tiny flutters that eventually turned into little kicks? Looking at this mama’s sweet smile whilst cradling her bump certainly made me do. Now excuse me while I grab some tissues.
