📸 Employee Experience Spotlight: Sonnie Jones, in Yellowstone with
Sonnie recently traveled to Yellowstone National Park with and a group of camera store pros and photographers from across the country. What started with nerves turned into an unforgettable trip full of learning, creativity, and community.
"I tend to be my harshest critic, so I was pretty nervous… In my head, everyone was going to be experienced wildlife photographers. Once I met everyone, it was really a great experience."
The group was a mix of travel shooters, event photographers, film shooters, and a wildlife guide, all seeing the same scene in totally different ways.
🐺 The standout moment came in Lamar Valley: "We were lucky enough to watch a 14-strong pack of wolves move into a herd of bison… We didn't have the lens reach for a great photo, but we were close enough to experience it."
🌄 The days started at 4 a.m. to catch first light. "Once the light hit, you had to work fast because you might only have ten minutes. In the end, getting up that early was worth it."
But the best part wasn't an image or an animal: "My favorite part of the trip was getting to shoot with other people who love photography, even if we don't shoot the same subject matter."
Photography is about more than cameras and lenses. It's about learning from one another, stepping outside our comfort zones, and connecting with people who share the same passion. We're grateful for experiences like this that let our team learn, connect, and bring new inspiration back to our community!
