Stephanie & Chris’ wedding was an incredible way to kick off peak wedding season! I’m not exaggerating when I say this wedding felt like something bigger than just one day. At a time when leaders often use differences to divide, Stephanie and Chris created a space that did the opposite. Their multicultural wedding celebration brought people together in a way that encouraged guests to find beauty in their common humanity and joy in the unique traditions they bring with them.

One of the beautiful things about living in a state with 4 full seasons is that portraits taken in the same location, even as little as a few weeks apart, can have a completely different look and feel to them. We captured Emily and Sam’s engagement photos in German Village shortly after the massive snowfall we experienced, and it was a full on winter wonderland! While the footing was a little precarious (shoutout to Emily for making it look easy in heels), the snow was beautiful and lent a snuggly, cozy feel to their photos. Fast forward a couple weeks later, and I did a maternity portrait session in this same spot in full sunshine without a jacket 😂

One of the highlights of last year’s wedding season was getting to photograph Alex & Nick’s wedding at the . Caro and I were volunteers at the zoo for a time, and we’ve been longtime season ticket members there. So when Alex, Nick, and I connected for the first time and discussed their vision for their wedding day, I was immediately on board. I don’t remember for sure, but I might have begged a little to let me photograph their wedding for them 😂 Joking aside, it was such a joyful, heartfelt celebration. Alex and Nick are so chill and so authentically themselves, and the staff at the Zoo did an incredible job of both celebrating the wedding and also exposing guests to some of the amazing zoo animals. I definitely walked away with a full heart!

Winter is a wonderful time to rest and reconnect with friends and family, but after some time off, I’m ready and excited for my 2026 weddings!!! Spring is booked solid and about to get really busy, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

One of the weddings I’m looking forward to is Brooke & Eric’s wedding at . For their engagement session, we ventured out to Buckeye Lake where Brooke & Eric love to get away from the craziness of the daily grind and take their adorable little dog out for walks. Brooke’s parents have a boat on the lake, and they made arrangements for her dad to captain us around the lake for a truly unique experience (especially in Central Ohio!)

When choosing which wedding photos to post, I often feel pressure to put out the most “Instagram-worthy” collection. The ones that people will look at and think, “Wow, those are so beautiful!” I’m a bit ashamed to admit that in giving into this pressure, I often fail to publish the photos that speak to me most - the ones that highlight and celebrate depth, breadth, and beauty of family and community. The look of sheer pride on a father’s face when he sees his daughter for the first time in her dress or walks her down the aisle. The joy, purity, and goofiness that children bring to the day. The laughter and willingness to leave behind the cares of the world as people reconnect with and pour into their friends & family. These are the moments that warm my heart throughout the wedding day and fill me up as I edit the full gallery. At the end of the day, there’s a whole community of loved ones that supported the bride and groom on their journey to each other, and it’s beautiful to watch as this community celebrates alongside them on one of the most momentous days of their lives.

Everything about this wedding screamed Callia and Ryan. It had a classy, timeless aesthetic, yet it never once felt pretentious. That’s because they planned it entirely themselves, and the day reflected their own humble yet confident, fashionable yet not ostentatious vibe.

One of the choices Callia and Ryan made during the planning process was to rent a suite in the Hotel LeVeque, arguably the crown jewel of the downtown Columbus skyline. This historic building is one of my favorite places to photograph in the city, hosting arguably the best getting ready suites in the central Ohio region. The decor is understated but classy, and the neutral color palette combined with abundant window light makes for a gorgeous spot for photos. Plus, it offers a range of options for indoor portraits on a stormy day

Now that the season has started to change, this is a great time to address a question that’s front of mind for many couples planning a late fall or winter wedding - how do you capture beautiful wedding photos when the leaves have fallen and the outside environment seems a bit desolate?

The answer? Plan for your photos to be captured in indoor spaces with abundant natural light. This allows you to stay comfortable and warm when the weather is cold and for us to use the soft light pouring in through the windows to light your portraits. It’s a win-win!

Some weddings feel like a whirlwind. But Alison and Jacob’s day at Jorgensen Farms was the exact opposite.

What made Alison and Jacob’s day so special wasn’t any particular detail. It was the way they leaned into each moment - the quiet ones, the chaotic ones, and everything in between. Their wedding was a true reflection of their love and relationship: warm, adventurous, and joyful.
