Some couples choose vineyards.
Some choose mountains, star studded skies.

But others, well - they choose the aggressively midwestern skyline of my dreams.

Windmills!

(Don’t even try to tell me Illinois is boring.)

There really is something to be said about being out in the open like that.

It keeps you honest.

Vulnerable.
Exposed.

The funny thing is, this wasn’t the backdrop anyone imagined. The original plan was a quiet wedding tucked into the trees of Funks Grove. But, much like in life, the plans changed - and the plans led them here.

With no backdrop to steal the focus, it was just these two and their love on full display - choosing each other, regardless of venue.

And it was absolutely perfect.

Some days don’t look like we imagine.
But they end up being exactly what we need.

(And your photographer gets her windmills.)

First of all, thank you. ❤️
Thank you for trusting me with your families, your kids, your milestones, your weddings, and every chaotic moment in between.

I do not take that trust lightly.

Next, I owe you all a heartfelt apology:

My editing times have run beyond deadlines, and I’ve struggled to communicate delays. I haven’t been at my best this season, and I am truly sorry to those of you who had to wait a little too long for a response recently.

🍁 Everything is basically finished, with just a few more uploads before the chapter that was 2025 ends for me.

This year brought unexpected setbacks both in life and in business that I never could have prepared for when writing your contracts.

Really, the last two years.
Friends, it’s been hard.

But what I can tell you, is that it’s forced me to reevaluate a few things.

📸 I love what I do.
📷 I love capturing your memories.
📸 I love meeting your families, and watching your kids grow.

All that became abundantly clear as I considered what my future (and what the future of my business) might look like and grow into.

🚫 I can’t quit, and I won’t quit. 🚫

So it’s time to reshuffle.

In order to show up fully for my clients, myself, and my family - I need to spend less time glued to my computer screen editing - and more time doing what I do best.

Being present for the chaos.

Because of that, I am moving to a different session structure going forward.

You’ll now get to choose between:

✨ Curated Sessions — a smaller, intentionally selected gallery of my favorite images. Thoughtfully edited, cohesive, and delivered faster.

✨ Full Sessions — everything you’re used to: the full gallery, all the moments, all the chaos… just at a slightly higher price point to account for the additional time involved.

(If you choose full, nothing changes except the price. If you choose curated, you get a streamlined experience with the same heart and storytelling.)

As a thank-you — and to close out this chapter — I’m doing something special.

✨ From now until December 31st, you’ll be able to purchase a session at this year’s price to be used anytime in 2026.✨

The Session Pass is valid for a full session with all images included - just like you’re used to.

😴 Alright friends - it’s finally slowed down a little bit and I can give proper estimates on completed galleries.

📷 Fall Minis: 24-48 hours (sent in order of session date.)

📸 Family Sessions (Not Mini): 5-7 days.

📷 Sports: 24 hours for team / 4-5 days individuals.

📸 Maternity/Babies: 1-2 weeks.

📷 Seniors: 24-48 hours.

📸 Pre-October Weddings: 2-3 weeks unless we’ve spoken already.

📷 October Weddings and Beyond: 6-8 weeks.

📌 I will be responding to all emails/messenger inquiries within 48 hours.

My client was willing to be vulnerable, so I am too.

I could not nurse my babies.
My oldest had an ulcerative hemangioma on her lip that required specialized ni***es just to get anything in her little body. I didn’t even know pumping full time was a choice.

My son, he got teeth really early. He would bite and thrash and I weaned him as soon as that habit wouldn’t break. It was selfish, but I didn’t even know pumping full time was a choice.

My youngest, she’s 14 months old.
With her, it was a little different. I had post partum anxiety, and every let down brought a wave of doom. I quit that s**t immediately.

In the end, I wound up with three beautiful, thriving children.

All were fed.
However I had to do it.

I get a lot of requests for nursing photos.
That’s not new, and I love every one of them.

What I don’t get a lot of are requests for nursing sessions that don’t look…well… normal.

Meet Aubrey:

A first time mom who exclusively pumps.
Hours upon hours hooked up to a machine.
Uncomfortable.
All to keep her baby fed.

Pumping is not easy, friends.
You have to schedule your entire life around your ability to hook up to that damn pump.
It’s annoying.
It hurts.

But for some, that’s the only way it works.

And not only does Aubrey give hours to nourish her own baby, she also pumps and saves her extra milk to donate.

She has helped so many parents and babies.

What a gift.
What a selfless gift.

Something that should be photographed.
Acknowledged.
There are so many ways to feed the babies.

They’re all valid.
They’re all enough.

Your work is seen.
Your effort is not lost on us.

Thank you for your vulnerability.
Your desire to have your story captured.
And for allowing me to do that for your family.

The trees can’t make up their minds this year,
But that’s okay!
There’s still plenty of fall colors to go around -
And you can’t even tell that it’s cold! 🥶

This little baby was not interested in having his photos taken, but through the tireless efforts of mom and dad, we were able to get some smiles!

His little Dino roar was my favorite. 🦖

As usual, it’s a pleasure to capture these moments for your families. 🫶🏻✌🏻

This was a super fun one for me:

•A group of sassy softball players.
•Roughly aged 10.
•Full of giggles and 6-7’s. (4, 1.)

I was given the nearly impossible task of making them look both Fierce and Fire for their team banner.

Despite the cutting wind, frigid temps, and quickly setting sun, I think we managed to get at least a few pretty amazing shots. 🥶

These girls were seriously so fun to work with, and I laughed just as hard as they did. We played “the grass is lava,” and “Simon says” probably a little too much. 🥸😅

It was a pleasure to work with everyone, and I can’t wait to see which photo ends up on the dugout this season! 🥎🔥
