Revisit: Matt + Yumi (9/28/25)

Film looks different.

Using a film camera means manual focus and waiting to see if you got the shot.

Yumi really wanted some film pictures. Kevin loves a challenge and so he said, “Let’s do it!” Only recently did he use all the film he had on hand and he finally sent it for developing.

We just got the pictures back and we love the graininess of film photos. The color photos especially show such true color. We emailed them to Japan today, and we hope Matt and Yumi agree.

Gallery Delivered: Kesler Family

Without fail this adorable, fun family has a fall session. We’ve been all over Columbus.

This year we thought the brick and charm of German Village and Schiller Park would be a pretty backdrop.

It had its challenges, but it also offered some unique settings.

I think you’ll agree the charm of the Keslers came through, too!

Sneak Peek: Matt + Yumi

An American Wedding! Stay with me. 😜

When first living in Japan, Matt and Yumi met online. They started dating, but at first Matt thought she maybe only wanted to practice her English.

Obviously that wasn’t the case and true love followed. ❤️

They married last year in Japan. Sunday was their American wedding.

It was a beautiful day with the sweetest couple and their family and friends.

As they head back to Japan tomorrow, we wanted to share some of our favorites!

Sneak Peek: Isaac + Heather

Heather is a professional photographer and to celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary (❤️) she wanted to do a photo shoot.

When thinking about who to hire, Isaac recalled Kevin. Heather and Kevin had met 17 years ago at a photographers group. They hit it off - so much so that she assisted him back then as a second shooter for weddings when he was doing photography full time.

As we walked up to meet them, Kevin was somewhat rattled with the reunion as it had been about 15 years. Hugs all around first and then some catching up!

It was really fun for me to get to know Heather and Isaac and to watch her and Kevin talk about things like looking for a spot to do a “light flare”, discussing what camera settings he was using, and all the things I don’t know. 😜

They are the cutest couple, still very much in love, which only added to the beauty of the images.

We hope you agree.
