Well… we've been a little busy around here. ❤️

Our family got a little bigger in July, and we are officially a family of four! We've been soaking up the newborn snuggles, adjusting to life with two kiddos, and enjoying this pretty special (and slightly sleep-deprived 😴) season.

But I'm excited to say that KatFour Photo is coming back in September! 🎉

I can't wait to get back behind the camera and see all of you again — families, seniors, professionals, small business owners, and everyone in between.

Fall sessions are officially open, and I already know those beautiful October evenings are going to go quickly. If you've been waiting for me to come back, I'm ready when you are! 📸❤️

❤️ A Little Life Update ❤️

As many of you know, our family is getting ready to welcome a little one very soon!

With that exciting new chapter just around the corner, it's officially time for me to step away for maternity leave.

Before I do, I just want to say thank you.

Thank you to every family who invited me into your lives, every senior who trusted me to capture this milestone, every business owner who came to me for branding photos and headshots, every new baby, every growing family, and every returning client who has supported KatFour Photo over the years. This little business exists because of all of you, and I truly couldn't be more grateful.

Over the next few months, I'll be soaking up newborn snuggles, learning life as a family of four, and taking some time to rest before picking up my camera again.

I'm planning to return this fall (sometime in September), and I already can't wait to reconnect with so many of you.

Until then, thank you for your patience, your encouragement, and for allowing me to do a job I genuinely love.

There are some sessions that just feel easy from the very beginning, and this was definitely one of them.

We spent the evening wandering through Shelter Gardens, taking advantage of the beautiful summer light, and celebrating a huge milestone. She brought such a fun, relaxed energy to the session, and her personality absolutely shines through these images.

Sometimes all you need is 15 minutes.

This sweet studio session was a great reminder that you don't need a long session to walk away with a beautiful variety of portraits. We kept things quick and easy, mixed in a few different background options, and created a gallery full of images in both color and black & white.

Not every senior session happens during senior year.

This session was all about getting a head start, and honestly, I think that's a pretty great strategy. 🎓

We met at Shelter Gardens, kept things simple, and managed to sneak in a full session before the weather decided to change its mind. The gardens were beautiful, the crowds were light, and the relaxed pace made for a really easygoing evening.

One thing I always tell families is that senior photos don't have to be complicated. You don't need multiple locations, several outfit changes, or hours of posing to create images you'll love. Sometimes all you need is a great location, good light, and thirty minutes to slow down and celebrate this season of life.

Senior year will be here before we know it. Congratulations on getting a jump start on it!

One of the sweetest parts of this job is getting to see families again as the years go by. 💛

This was my third session with this wonderful family, and getting to watch their little girl grow from baby to smiley, giggly toddler has been such a joy. Every session feels a little different as kids grow into their personalities — and this week, she brought so many laughs, smiles, and happy little moments with her.

This session was short, simple, and full of the kind of moments I know parents want to remember years from now: tiny hand-holding walks, big toddler grins, being tossed in the air by dad, and all the in-between sweetness that makes this stage so special.

Thank you guys for continuing to trust me to document your family through all these seasons. It truly means so much. 💛

Big congratulations to Ande and Anna on graduating from Mizzou this weekend! 🎓💛🐾

These two are headed off to become veterinarians, and after spending an evening with them for their grad session, it’s pretty easy to see they’re going to do amazing things. They brought so much joy, energy, and genuine friendship into this session ... and of course Lemon completely stole a few scenes too. 🐶

Graduation weekends always feel a little emotional in the best way. So much hard work, late nights, growth, change, and excitement all wrapped into one milestone moment.

To Ande and Anna - congratulations on everything you’ve accomplished and everything that’s ahead of you!

And to all the graduates celebrating this weekend: congratulations. Wishing you all so much success, happiness, and fulfillment in whatever comes next. 💛

There’s something extra special about delivering a newborn gallery the day before Mother’s Day. 💛

Tiny toes, sleepy snuggles, proud parents, and all those little in-between moments that already feel unforgettable. This sweet family met me at Shelter Gardens for an outdoor newborn session, and the soft spring light could not have been more perfect for welcoming their newest little love.

One of my favorite things about lifestyle newborn sessions is how relaxed they feel — no pressure for everything to be perfectly posed. Just connection, cuddles, and the beginning of a brand new chapter together.

Happy almost Mother’s Day to all the moms in every stage of motherhood. 🤍
