One of the fun parts of photographing a wedding is learning more about the bride and groom during the reception speeches.

I remember laughing so hard hearing about the beginning of Sharon and Chris’s relationship, then holding back tears when his sister spoke of his selflessness and how he’s put her first.

It’s so special to me to step into a wedding day like theirs and photograph the full story, all the friends and family + all the big and little moments.

How do you summarize the essence of a wedding day in just a handful of photos?

I always ask myself that when processing a gallery, and it’s always hard to do.

For Katy and Justin’s photos, I keep coming back to this particular set of images from their cocktail hour. People were so immersed in conversation, laughter, good drinks, and stunning views.

I feel like it represents their priority for the wedding day, getting to be present with and enjoy their friends and family đź’›

It was an absolute JOY to get to photograph Katy and Justin’s wedding!!
