Camuy, Puerto Rico. All of the blue and the sound of the sea crashing on the rocks. Oddly, my favorite memories are of washing dishes in the open air kitchen, listening to the waves, and watching the grandkids collect hermit crabs. Also I miss our Puerto Rican friends. 🩵

If you live in the middle of a tranquil forest on the top of the hill… It tends to creep into your artwork often. I would suggest finding a forest near you and taking a few deep breaths. I hope that it brings you peace.

A monarch stops by on its journey south. So many of the wildflowers have withered from the drought. Hopefully rain will come this weekend. I will breathe a sigh of relief along with nature.

My granddaughter and daughter-in-law have been busy making these cute little creations. They are raising money to do shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. All of the proceeds will go to this project. These will be available this week at Bleu 32 Vintage Marketplace in downtown Columbia, Tennessee. They would make a great gift along with one of my children’s books that I have for sale there.

I just dropped these off today at Gallery 48 Torch fired vitreous enamel on copper. It may be blazing hot but fall is around the corner. Add some color to your wardrobe.

What a beautiful treat to visit with my friend Shawn South Aswad and get flowers from the Fairy Field on this last day of the picking season. She has been planting this garden for the children to come and pick flowers for free. There are all kinds of fun and creative activities for the children to do and adults can pick for a donation. She puts so much of her heart into this amazing gift to the community. The field is closed for now but coming up on October 10th will be her Crow Party. Kids are free, adult tickets are $5. Wear black and bring your fun trinkets to exchange. I will post the details in my story.

I’ve been absent from my jewelry bench for too long but inspiration comes from fresh materials. A dear friend gave me a very generous box full of jewelry she no longer wore and this pretty inlaid cross was among the pieces, along with a tangled strand of beautiful coral beads. I paired it with beads that I had and came up with this necklace that evokes autumn colors but would work any time of year. I found a fictitious model to show it off. I do so wish I double find a dress like hers. 😆🩵
