One of my favourite photos taken back in January/February (!!) on our South Carolina trip. Riverbanks Zoo & Garden.

I have to say that reptiles, for those who can stand them, must be a texture lovers' dream. I am loving editing my images from the reptile house at the Detroit Zoo back in October for the Smashing Pumpkins event! It may have been rainy and yucky out, but in the end, I got lots of nice shots and we spent more time in places we usually overlook or rush through (reptile house, amphibiville, etc.). I'm hoping to be finished soon!

Our trip to Mackinac Island as part of our Northern Michigan/Upper Peninsula vacation.

Mackinac Island trivia: once upon a time, the island residents decided to build this archway at one end of the cemetery. They measured for the height and width of a wagon to enter... but forgot to add extra height consideration for THE DRIVER! Due to this, you can see a path to the left of the archway (which is closed off via metal gates nowadays) which is where you actually enter from this end of the property. Learn all this and more if you ever take a trip to the island and partake in a horse-drawn tour ^_^

[PD: A large, stone arch made from individual visible large rocks, w/ stone cross @ top; a metal fence spans behind the arch. A dusty path can be seen coming in from the left-hand side, next to the arch. There are green trees all around & fallen leaves cover the ground.]

Took a drive out to Yates Cider Mill in Rochester, but it was so crowded you couldn't even park - so we improvised and drove on to Rochester Cider Mill instead!
