I recently participated in Spoiled Rotten Photography's annual Personal Project, an opportunity for our photographers to challenge ourselves creatively and grow as artists.
This year I was inspired by a meaningful event from my previous career in the Army. Three years ago, I had the privilege of participating in the funeral honors and reinterment for 14 Revolutionary War Soldiers whose remains had been discovered on the nearby Camden Battlefield. This image was created at the Old Presbyterian Cemetery where they were ultimately laid to rest. While their names may never be known, the U.S. Army and the Camden community ensured their sacrifice would never be forgotten.
Special thanks to Staff Sgt. Benjamin Garnett of the 282nd Army Band at Fort Jackson for helping me pay tribute to these heroes once again.
If this image speaks to you, I'd be honored if you'd click the image and leave a comment on my photo. I encourage you to take some time to look through all the other amazing images created by my SRP colleagues as well. Thank you for your support!
