This weekend is half a decade🎉🥳🎊

While, it’s not quite time for my branding session yet, I thought it would be fun to go through the years and talk about the highlights of each year and what brought me to this point. It’s been a wild ride and I could not be happier to be here, but I’m also sad that somehow 5 years have magically passed by.

I started this business in 2021 during the pandemic and was honestly surprised at how well it’s stuck around for me. It pretty much blossom into something pretty amazing that was able to give me something to provide for myself when I was really struggling with my chronic illness at my regular 7-5 job.

Since I’ve started this business, I’ve gotten to travel, it prompted me to be able to get my passport so that I could do a wedding in Mexico, it has strengthened my own marriage, allowed me to make so many memories with incredible people, provide for my family, be creative on a regular basis, learn the importance of stress management, and make some of the best friends that I could ever ask for.

I’ve been blessed to be able to work to multiple different community organizations and businesses, be a sponsor for our local police station K9, donate to our high schools, share the love, and work with so many wonderful small businesses in our local communities.

Owning your own business is absolutely not for the week. I knew that going into it watching my dad own his own business for going on 30+ years. I still wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Every headache, heartbreak, sweaty wedding reception, failed technology, and hospital visit has led me here - HALF A FREAKING DECADE, thousands and thousands of photographs, priceless memories and years of this business to continue growing and learning.

Thank you to every single client, friend in the industry, educator, and mentee - you’ve ALL been part of this journey and I’m forever grateful for your part in my life.

Cheers to 5 years, let’s celebrate MHP for decades to come! 🥹👏🏻🦢✨

A little moon magic maternity under the almost full and final moon of April. ✨

In all transparency about maternity sessions - sometimes your baby has their own schedule to keep and your session doesn’t go as planned. Rescheduled sessions happen more frequently with maternity clients towards the end of their pregnancy, hiccups that cause us to rearrange our session or play it safe and change our plan for the sake of you and your baby - but I’m here to tell you that it will be okay, regardless of how you get to take your maternity photos.

We did these in about as dark of an environment as that first shot for the entire session and busted out their whole galley in less than 30 minutes - including walking back and forth from the car (and with flashlights).

Don’t stress what we can’t always change, I’ll have your back and we will create art no matter when/where/how.

I’m thrilled to document your wedding day. Whatever that looks like. Whether we are in your childhood backyard, a courthouse in downtown, the Oregon Coast eloping with your closest people, or in the prettiest garden venue. My biggest passion is documenting your love story.

After almost 5 years in business, I’ve learned so much from documenting couples on their big day and I’ve spent the last few weeks crafting my perfect guide for all of my future clients to lean on for support in prepping your wedding timelines with your photos (I absolutely never want your wedding day to feel like a photoshoot!), all of the best vendors I’ve loved working with, family shot list examples, things I’ve learned from details to chair count, and more.

I’ve stocked up on all the necessities to keep myself, anyone working along side me, fellow vendors and my clients and their bridal parties - sane, healthy and hydrated during the heat waves and cold snaps, because I’ve learned just how much the human body is capable of before they start to feel ill. I got your back - before, during and after.

My bags are always packed and ready to go, no matter the destination. You’ll always have two photographers unless planned custom for you without, to ensure we have every angle covered for you.

It’s time to celebrate 5 years in business by giving YOU a session of your dreams. Whether you are documenting your love story with your partner, running the beach with your kids, playing somewhere cool with your dogs, eloping on the coast for a quick sunset session, or you are expecting your first baby…this session is for whatever your dreams are made of.

Thank you for being here and for supporting my dreams for all of these years. I cannot wait to share everything I’ve been working on next month, but I wanted to kick off my anniversary month but including YOU. 💖 I wouldn’t be here without you.
