Thewanderingb Photography Aloha ! I am TheWanderingB, aka Béa. I am a destination photographer currently located on the Big Is My name is Bea, I am here as you guide & friend. together.

Moments come and go so fast, but that doesn't mean that your memories will fade. Whatever your story is, it should be told in your own unique way. Let's cherish the little moments and big feelings above all else, and have a freaking amazing time doing so. So let's add all the stamps to your passport and celebrate your commitment to each other with an adventure, a one of a kind experience which wil

l be as unforgettable as the love between the two of you. An adventurous elopement is not just a 7 hour hike to a mountain top. It can be you exchanging your vows just the two of you, or surrounded by your closest friends and family, in the middle of a morrocan desert or us in a Jeep driving on a 4x4 road to the first secluded beach where he first proposed. Basically, what I am trying to say is that your perfect elopement is 100% customizable. The only requirement is that it's unique to YOU! Whatever you want to do! Whatever and wherever feels like YOU.
What is an Elopement? I'm not a vendor and you're not my client. We're friends. It might be cheesy and weird, but I get really invested in my couples because I really do care so so much and want to be more than just a photographer to you. LETS CAPTURE YOUR ADVENTURE FEARLESSLY AND BEAUTIFULLY

She's wearing white sneakers. He's wearing the kind of grin you can't fake. And somewhere between their vows and the walk back to the car, he just… picked her up. No prompt from me. No "okay, now do something romantic." He felt like it, so he did it.

That's the part nobody tells you about eloping. When you take away the script, the seating chart, the DJ cueing your first dance, what's left is just you two doing whatever your bodies want to do. Laughing at nothing. Standing in the quiet. Getting swept up, literally, in the middle of the red rocks because the moment asked for it.

The Colorado landscape gets a lot of credit (and yeah, it earns it). But the real magic of an elopement isn't the view. It's the permission slip. Permission to be weird, soft, silly, overwhelmed, completely yourselves, with nobody watching but the rocks and me 🤍

If a wedding day where nobody hands you a timeline sounds like the right kind of freedom, that's exactly the kind of day I love photographing.

Most couples don't plan the forehead touch. It just happens. Usually right after the words, when nobody knows what to do with their hands and the only thing that makes sense is to lean in.

That's the frame I'm always watching for. Not the kiss, not the cheer. The quiet ten seconds in between, when everything else falls away and it's just the two of you breathing in the same air.

Christina put it better than I could:

"I have never felt more confident in front of a camera than I did with Bea. She puts you at ease and makes you laugh the entire time. The photos were absolutely stunning."

That word, confident, is the one I think about most. Because the goal was never to make Christina + Kris look like a magazine spread. It was to make them feel like themselves, on a day that already asked a lot of them.

The photos that move people aren't the posed ones. They're the ones where you can tell the couple forgot to perform 🤍

Nobody told her to laugh like that.

That's just what happens when you stop trying to look perfect. Usually about ten minutes in, once the "okay but where do I put my hands" panic wears off and you remember the person standing next to you is just the person you love.

This is what I'm actually chasing. Not the composed portrait. The moment right after, when his hand goes to her chin and something real breaks through.

A mountain lake. An evergreen forest. Two people completely in it 🤍

If the idea of being photographed makes you a little nervous, good. That means you care. We'll get there together, somewhere quiet in the Colorado mountains, and I promise the laugh will come.

Rocky Mountain National Park requires an elopement permit secured months in advance, while permit-free spots like Garden of the Gods let you show up with same-week flexibility. That one detail changes your entire planning timeline.

National parks like Rocky Mountain or Maroon Bells offer those iconic, jaw-dropping alpine backdrops. They are perfect if you want that unmistakable Colorado mountain scene and do not mind securing your spot early in the planning process.

But if you prefer spontaneity or have a shorter planning window, permit-free public lands give you dramatic red rock formations and sweeping views with zero paperwork. You can decide to get married on a Tuesday and simply make it happen.

Eloping is all about trading the heavy logistics of traditional weddings, like seating charts and timeline scripts, for the quiet freedom of the outdoors. Understanding the local permit rules early is what keeps that freedom feeling light and stress-free.

Both options are breathtakingly beautiful. As your photographer and guide, I help you navigate these exact logistics so you can focus on how it actually feels to stand in these spaces together 🤎

She wasn't posing. He wasn't performing. That laugh happened between two people who forgot a camera was there.

It's the moment between the moments. The one nobody choreographs. The one you can't fake even if you tried (and please don't try, I promise it shows).

Most of what I do isn't about telling you where to stand or how to tilt your chin. It's about paying attention to the way your hands find each other when you're nervous. The half-second before a real laugh lands. The look you give each other when you think nobody's watching 🤍

You don't have to be good in front of a camera. You just have to be with the person you love.

I'll catch the rest.

Most couples tell me, somewhere between the rings and the ceremony, that they're a little nervous about being in front of the camera.

Penelope and her partner were no different. And then we found ourselves in a vintage convertible, in the middle of a quiet street, and they leaned in for a kiss that did not need any direction from me at all.

That frame, black and white, slightly blurred at the edges, is the one I keep coming back to.

Penelope wrote this afterward, and I'm still a little undone by it: "She was joyful, energetic and very experienced at helping us get into poses that felt super natural and fun. We truly feel that she made the experience even better than we could have ever imagined." 🤍

That's the whole job, honestly. Not posing people. Not performing a wedding. Just making the day feel comfortable enough that the real moments have somewhere to land.

Penelope, thank you for trusting me with yours.

Snow-capped peaks. Pine valley below. Just the two of you, dancing on a ledge instead of a dance floor.

This is what a Colorado mountain elopement actually looks like, unrushed, intentional, and entirely your own. Save this for your own mountain day 🤍

She told me three times during planning that she wasn't going to cry.

Not the "I'll keep it together" kind of not crying. The confident, almost casual kind. She had it handled.

Then the mountains came into view. Then he started his vows. And there it was. One hand to her cheek, a breath she didn't expect, that small overwhelmed smile that shows up when something becomes real in your body before your brain catches up 🤍

This is the part nobody warns you about. Not the dress, not the location, not the timeline. The moment the day stops being a plan and starts being your actual life.

If you're someone who swears you won't cry, I believe you. I also know what I usually see ten minutes in.

Either way, you don't have to hold anything together for me. That's kind of the whole point.

"I have never felt more confident in front of a camera than I did with Béa."

Christina said that. And I still think about it.

Because most people who book me tell me some version of the same thing first: we're awkward, we don't know what to do with our hands, please don't make us pose like a catalog. Christina and Kris said it too. Then we spent the morning at Garden of the Gods, sunflower bouquet in hand, red rock towering over a quiet paved path, and somewhere between the first laugh and the last hug, the camera stopped mattering.

She told me she cried a little when the gallery came back. That part I think about too.

No aisle. No audience. Just the two of them, the rocks, and a whole lot of laughing in between 🤍

"We're awkward in front of cameras."

I hear it on almost every consult call. Usually said with a nervous laugh, sometimes followed by "…so good luck with us." 💛

Here's what I've learned after years of doing this: nobody is actually awkward. They've just never had a photographer who gave them permission to stop performing.

So we don't start with posing. We start with a walk. A bad joke. A question about how you two actually met (not the polished version). Ten minutes in, your shoulders drop. Twenty minutes in, you forget I'm there.

And then this happens. Eyes closed. Leaning in. That full, uninhibited smile that only shows up when someone feels completely safe.

That's the photo. Not the one where you're looking at the camera. The one where you forgot it existed.

If you've been putting off booking because you "aren't photo people," I promise you're not the exception. You're basically everyone. And the comfortable, unrushed kind of day is exactly what we're going to build together. ✨
